Chapter 6

    When Joe was looking at his brothers Kate placed her drinks on a table and went inside the washroom.

    Kate entered the washroom and saw her cousin washing up.

    “You wouldn’t believe what just happened.” Kate said.

    “What?” Bea asked.

    ***

    Joe was deeply bummed out for losing her again. He sighed and followed his brothers, while in the car Joe quietly sipped his espresso.

    “Joe, what’s wrong with you?” Kevin asked.

    “Nothing, just wondering.” Joe said staring out the window.

    “Wondering about?” Nick interrupted.

    “If I’ll get to see her again, Kate. Man, I keep losing her.” Joe said shaking his head.

    “It’s okay bro. If it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be.” Nick said.

    “Yeah, I guess.” Joe said.

    They arrived in the radio station. 102. 7 KIIS FM, Ryan Seacrest’s station.

    “The Jonas Brothers were here.” Kate said with a straight face.

    “SHUT UP!” Bea screamed and ran outside only to find no one.

    She turned to look back at her cousin.

    “WERE here, Bea. And Joe remembers me, for some reason.” Kate shrugged.

    “You have to tell me everything!” Bea said as they headed for their table.

    “Nothing happened, he was in a hurry. So I said see you.” Kate said.

    “KATE! What if we wanted to ask for your number or something! You shouldn’t have left just like that.” Bea said.

    “But he was in a hurry! It kind of felt awkward too.” Kate said.

    “Man, why did I have to miss it?!” Bea said.

    “I could’ve seen Nick!” she added.

    “Uh-huh. Let’s go get tickets for the movie.” Kate said laughing.

    So the three boys entered the station and sat with Ryan by the studio.

    “So, here with me yet again are the Jonas Brothers. Kevin, Joe and Nick. Hey boys!” Ryan said over the microphone.

    “Hey Ryan.” The three said in unison.

    “So, you’re back here in L.A. how was it in San Diego?” Ryan asked.

    “Hot Hot.” Joe joked.

    “Ahh, Hahaha. Anything interesting happened there?” He asked.

    “Well we visited this school and sang them a song or two.” Kevin said.

    “We also rode the The Giant Dipper in Belmont Park. Huuuge roller coaster.” Nick said.

    “The Giant Dipper! I remember riding that once, and it scared the jeez out of me.” Ryan said with a laugh.

    “We really love roller coasters.” Nick said with a laugh as he looked at his brothers.

    “So, has anything changed with your love life boys?” Ryan asked who looked at Joe first.

    “Uhm, no. Haha. Still the same, I have been trying to find this friend of mine. Kate.” Joe said.

    “OOOOH! Kate, wherev- whoever you are! Joe has been looking for you. If you can hear this, you know who you are. So, is she someone special Joe?” Ryan asked.

    “Just a friend.” Joe said with a smile.

    The people in the station were all WHOOOOOOOOOO!!! Just friends huh?

    “Nick? Kevin? Anything new with you guys too? Any ‘friend’ out there too?” Ryan asked.

    “Not at the moment.” Kevin said with a laugh.

    “Nope.” Nick smiled.

    “Okay, so times up all you listeners. But don’t fret, the boys will be back from time to time. For a surprise visit, I suppose. Thank you for coming boys.” Ryan said.

    “It was a pleasure.” Joe said emphasizing on the the r.

    “Thank you, for having us Ryan.” Kevin said.

    “Everybody! The Jonas Brothers.” Ryan said and went off air and started to play WYLMITE.

    “Thanks for being here boys.” Ryan said and shook their hands.

    “Thank you for having us.” The three said.

Chapter 7

    After the movie, the two girls went home. They were talking and laughing as they saw Kate’s father inside.

    “Hey girls.” He said.

    “Hey dad.” Kate said.

    “So, Bea your mom mailed something for you, I guess she mailed it earlier than your flight so you get it the day you arrive.” He said.

    “What is it uncle?” Bea asked eagerly.

    “Here.” He said as he handed her an envelope.

    Bea opened it and pulled out two tickets. She looked at Kate wide eyed.

    “OHMYGOD.” She said.

    “Who’s concert is it?” Kate asked.

    “It’s- it’s- THE JONAS BROTHERS!” Bea screamed.

    “NO!” Kate said surprised for her cousin.

    “YEAH!!! It’s next Monday! OHMYGOD! OHMYGOD!” Bea said jumping up and down.

    “I’m so happy for you!” Kate said.

    “No way! You’re coming with ME! Why did you think, mom got me two tickets?” Bea said.

    “For you to be more comfortable?” Kate said jokingly.

    “Whatever, you’re going!” Bea said.

    “Fine, fine.” Kate said.

    ***

    After the station the three boys headed home, to spend some time with their family.

    “JOE JOE!” Frankie jumped up and down as they boys entered the room.

    “Hey, big guy! What’s up?” Joe said.

    “We heard you guys on the radio, who’s Kate?” Frankie asked.

    “A friend.” Joe said with a smile.

    “I want to meet her!” Frankie said excitedly.

    “I wish you could! But, the thing is I keep losing her.” Joe said.

    “Oh.” Frankie said.

    “Joe, stop sulking. L.A. isn’t that big, I’m sure you’ll see each other again. Probably in the most unexpected place.” Kevin said.

    “Hope so. Wouldn’t it be cool though if she came to a concert of ours?” Joe said.

    “Yeah, I guess. We’ll see.” Nick said.

    “Yeah.” Joe replied.

    ***

    Monday came, Kate’s house.

    “OHMYGOD.” Bea said.
   
    “Okay, you have got to calm down Bea.” Kate said.

    “I can’t. It’s the Jonas Brothers!” Bea said.

    “Haha, okay. I get your point. I’ll just go and get ready.” Kate said walking to her room.

    “Me too.” Bea said.

    Kate took a shower and went to her walk-in closet. She took a brown checkered shorts and a long sleeveless top and her favorite gladiator sandals. She took a small purse placed her sidekick in it, and a little bit of cash.

    She walked by the mirror and put on a little amount of lip gloss and she was ready to go.

    Then she went to Bea’s room.

    “Bea?” Kate said.
   
    “Yeah Kate?” Bea replied who was in the bathroom.

    “Are you ready?” Kate said.

    “Almost.” Bea said. Then she came out of the bathroom wearing skinny jeans, a white top and a scarf. Her hair was now in a messy ponytail.

    “Let’s go?” Kate said with a smile.

    “Yup. This is going to be fun.” Bea said.

    “Yeah.” Kate said, might as well get my keys back too. She thought.

    And the two headed out the door.
