My sister bought the Jonas Brothers CD and made me listen to it, and now I CAN'T STOP LISTENING TO IT. I FREAKING LOVE THIS CD. O_O
I feel really dorky, because I'm almost 18 and my friends would totally laugh at me if they knew about my recent musical addiction...so I came in search of help, and I found this place. It's good to know that OJD is recognized and I am not alone.
Sooo...how does one deal with this? What do you guys do about your "symptoms?" And how do you deal with Jonas dissenters, even when they're your friends?

the only difference is that im 16, but why would u be ashamed if ur friends found out? Everyone has the right to like watever they want to....
but the jonas brothers are great so its hard to overcome ojd, so just enjoy having it =)
and as how to deal with ur friends, do wat i do. tell them to shut up or you'll beat the hell out of them! (it actually works) and by the way, they eventually stop buggin you or learn to like them too
TRUST ME! everyone that listens to a jonas cd ends up LOVING them... some not as much as others but you do end up loving them....now me... i do have a serious problem! i'm 16 and over 350 posters of jb line my walls! yeah... i have MAJOR OJD! lol but one learns and actually enjoys having ojd! its something you can't get ride off and if you do then you never really had ojd in the first place! so learn to love ojd. embrace ojd! AND OMJ I SOUND LIKE A PSYCIATRIST FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE OJD! WOW... SEE THIS IS WHAT HAVING 3 MONSTERS BEFORE BED CAN DO TO YOU!

That happened to me with "IAT",except my sister hates them,and I started it. I bought it,and seriously listened to it all day. Actually,not all day. Just half of it.
It doesn't matter if you have OJD and you are 18! There is nothing wrong with it all all~. I'm 17, and will be 18 in June and I have no problem with it. Your friends may think it is strange, but just laugh it off or something and make it a part of your personalitly. Show them that they aren't just some silly people that little kids like. If they are real friends, they wouldn't laugh seriously and be mean, they'd accept it. You shouldn't have to worry~
no worries... im 17, used to make fun of them all the time. now i like them and would look like a major hypocrit if ANYONE knew. plus my friends would make fun of me too because theyre into hard stuff. so i keep to myself. a couple of people know but not more than 3 people lol. one of them (my bff) loves them too. she told me randomly one day and i was like OMG. so if you want just tell your closest friends...they shoudnt make fun of you. i know what its like. and its not that easy for to rest of you that say "just tell them!!" some of us have friends that take music a little too seriously and think that if you like anything remotely associated with the jonas brothers, miley cyrus, etc, then you're nuts and have absolutly no good taste in music. my friends are annoying that way. thats why i come here :)
Lol, thanks guys. I think I'll still keep it on the DL for now, but I guess I can mention it if it ever comes up. I'm mostly worried about my BFF, who doesn't like anything Disney Channel-related.
But now that I've joined here, I'll have someplace to gab about JB, at least. :)

haha me too, im switching schools next year to a co-ed school, and i was yakking about the jonases and my mom was just like "why am i sending you to a school with boys?" and i was like.... "your attempting to cure my OJD but its not gonna happen. sorry." yeah you can PM me at omjitsthejb cause i will go on for HOURS. ugh. i love theese boys.

Pfft. No one at my school likes them,and I have OJD as bad as I did when I got it.
