how do you put up an avatar?!?

ok maybe this is a dumb question, but where do you got to put in the code for your avatar? i just cant figure it out!

You only use a code for signatures. For avatars you just need to upload them. To get a code you can use a free image website like Photobucket.com, Imageshack.us, Tinypic.com.. etc.
