I had to write this speech for my speech class it's about music of the late 60s to mid 70s . Here it is :
Whether its rap, country or even a jingle from a commercial it’s called music. Music is everywhere whether you like it or not. Music is an expression of how you feel. In this speech, I will discuss a certain era of music that being the late sixties to mid 70s. I will discuss the types of music associated with those eras. Lastly, I will discuss a few of the bands from those eras.
Firstly, I may have not been alive or even thought of in the late sixties to the mid 70s but I’m still interested in these eras. The late sixties was the era of rock and roll. The seventies the infamous hippie era.
Secondly, like I said the late sixties was the era of rock and roll with such bands as the Beetles, The Monkees, and the Rolling Stones. All these bands “invaded “ us from over seas .The seventies was the time of the hippies and long hair. Some of the bands from that era are ABBA , Aerosmith , The Doobie Brothers .
Lastly, I will give you more information on one band from each era. Those are the Beetles and ABBA. The Beetles or the “Fab Four” were formed in the late sixties. The craze was called Beetlemania and even though they have broken up their music is still played today. ABBA might be not as famous as the Beetles but I’m sure you’ve heard their songs such as “ Take A Chance On Me” , “Dancing .Queen “ and “Mamma Mia.”
“Mamma Mia “ also happens to be the title of the play based on their songs. ABBA was formed by four Swedish people . The came up with this name by combining their first letters of their first names.
In conclusion, This era of music probably changed the music industry forever. So everyone listens to music no matter what. Like Bob Marley once said, “ The good thing about music is that when it hits you there’s no pain”
Good or bad? comments?
