Anyone know a good music editing software?

I have to edit a song for my C.A.T.S. class, and I need to get the chorus off of it, and I need a software to be able to do it. Does anyone know of a good one that's like a free download that I could use? Please let me know if you do!! Thanks =)

for cheerleading music last year i competed in a stunt division and we needed to mix music for it. we used this one..
