I was a girl scout for 10 years. lol
My mom was the leader and she refused to let me quit. But man does this thread bring back memories.
awesomeee. my mom was a leader, but i don't think she cared much if i quit or not. haha.
My troop disbanded after 8th grade and then this year i went to another troop to do the gold award w/my friend but i quit that cuz i pretty much hated it.......but the one thing i hated about girl scouts were the uniforms---the brownie one was okay but the ugly green junior one, and we chose the ugly scourt (skirt w/shorts don't know how 2 spell it) and the sash that would always fall off!
yeah girl, the green one was HIDEOUS. haha. and i know what your talking about with the whole skirt/short thingy's.
mine came up above my waist. hahaha. i looked like a total dork. i use to hate it. i'd be like "but momma, i look like a school teacher". but the sash didn't fall of me too much.
The worst part was the little chain thingy that was on the skirt/shorts....that was bad
And then our leaders ordered us these PURPLE troop jackets, so we basically walked around looking like barney.....and then one girl like melted her jacket over a campfire it was actually really funny cuz she was the leader's daughter and self-proclaimed "fire master" but she burned her jacket
Okay so my mom just told me that she forgot to pack a flashlight in my little sister's bag for her camping trip this weekend! My little sister is out there in the wildrness w/o a flashlight!!! I was like Nice, mom......
heck, i still am a girl scout!! this is like my 11th year. i went to like no meetings this year, but i was still registered. and next year i'm returning to full-time meetings cause my troop is going to europe :)
Yeah it's all about the trips :) We went to disneyland for our bridging from juniors to caddetes
Technically....i'm still registered too but i'm not doing the gold award anymore and i didn't like my new troop so i don't do any thing fun w/them anyways
i kinda never got my silver award so i cant go for gold :(
wait a second, i never did my silver but when i went to the info meeting with like the head of the girl scout council person, she said you didn't need to.....maybe that's just my council but i'm pretty sure u don't have to do silver to do gold, if not then half the girls in my troop are wasting thier time...
