Yesterday (Satuday) I went into NYC to see Demi Lovato at The Blender Theater. The concert was at 7, doors opening at 6.
My mom and I took the train and got into Penn Station at about 4. We then walked the 15 blocks to the concert and were there at about 4.20. The line at that point wraped around the corner of the block (the theater was the 2nd to last building on the block) and we had spots about 1/2 way down the block. It seemed like a long line, but in reality, it wasn't because you can't stand in front of store doors so there were large spaces. Also, the line didn't start at the theater door. Eventually, the line moved up slightly so we were closer. It was really hot and humid and there wasn't a breeze, making the wait uncomfortable. But then, the sky got darker and it started to RAIN...more like pour. Luckily, I was under an awning so I didn't get wet at first and my mom had an umbrella. Then, at about 5.30, the people who got tickets through Live Nation (they could skip the line) left and we moved up more. The rain had let up by this point. At about 6.30, the Ticketmaster line (which I was in) finally started moving. But, it was still downpouring. When we got to the point where they check your bags, we weren't under an overhang and it was still pouring like crazy. My mom accidentally tilted the umbrella so all the water that had collected on the top ran down my back plus my back was getting soaked from the rain. It was a funny sight.
There was stadium seating in the back, which is where most of the parents went. I manuvered my way into the crowd and was on the stage left side (where there were less people) about 5 people rows back. I was right in the way of a fan, so I had a nice breeze blowing on me. At 7, Phil Bensen came out. HE WAS AMAZING. It was really hot in the building and on the stage, so he kept commeting that it was "200 degrees up here." He added that line into a few of his songs. I don't know what time it was when he ended, probably 7.30. Then they started adjusting instruments for Demi. A radio disney lady came out (I think she said she was a DJ) and told us some exciting news...
She told us that we were going to be taped! They were filming the concert!!! It will be for Demi's concert DVD! Then, the lighting crew adjusted and timed the lighting and we all sang along to the music that was playing... at one point, they played S.O.S. and everyone screamed all the words and jumped to it. I got part of it on film; it was hilarious. Eventually, Demi's band came out and started playing music and she came out from backstage. When she came out, everyone moved foward, so I wasn't in the aim of the fan anymore (lol). She started with "That's How You Know." I don't know the complete order of her songs, but they were all amazing. She even did "This is Me" and one of her band members took the part of Shane.
Whenever she came to my section of the stage, everyone would reach foward to get her hand (including me :-P ). Because of this, I ended up moving so much closer... I was probably in the 3rd row of people by the end. I got some amazing picutures and I'm going to find someplace to upload them and I'll post the link.
And sorry that was so long, but it was very exciting.

EDIT: Below are 3 of the 100 pictures I took...I'm going to upload them all to a site and I'll post with that link soon. I also forgot to mention that half way through Demi's set the air stopped moving and it got even hotter. The fog machines were going and since there was no air flow, it all sat still so at the end, all of my pictures have this white glow to them. And I'm pretty sure I was the oldest one there (i'm 17) ...a few were close to me, but I think me and maybe two other girls were 17 or older.
