Ways around the text box prolem.
Modified By Ashleigh <3 on 7/11/2008 8:07:39 PM)
I know that the text box thing is an inconvenience but, we all need to remember that it's for a good cause to clean up the site. So, while we are waiting for the spammer problem to be fixed, I thought I'd share a few tricks to still make you text stand out.

Ok I'm going to try to make this a little easier.

HTML is a computer code that can be used for text. The main idea of it is, you will have tags as they are called around the text to make it how ever you want. These tags are set off by < > These keys are found at the bottom right of the key board next to the "m" and "?" button. Do you see them? Good! Those will become your new favorite keys!

Now, in the following instructions, I will bold everything that goes inside of those < > I can not flat out put the tags to copy and paste because they computer recognizes them as tags and they disappear so, that kind of defeats the purpose. Confusing, I know.

BOLD!
Let's get started. If you'd like to bolden text, put < then b then > then the text you want then < then /b then >

ITALICS!
Now, for italicized text, just do the same, but replace the b's with i's

UNDERLINED!
and, the same with underlined Just replace it with a u

I hope you aren't confused? haha
Now, how about some color?

COLORS!
That was the easy stuff . . . for color, you will also open and close the tag with < > See! I told you those would come in a lot!

This will go right before the text you'd like to color! You start with < then all of this will go inside: font color=" color or code of your choice">

Now, you are probably wondering what I mean by color or code. The easiest way to do this is probably by putting a color code in the quotations. It's a simple 6 character code. Here's a link to a BUNCH of codes for choosing.
Here's an example:
Jonas Brothers Rock!

At the end of the text that you'd like to color. Just put < then /font then another > to end the color.

FONTS!

All you have to do for a different font, is add this tag at the beginning of the whole text. < then font face ="name of font you'd like" then >

It's that simple!

A few popular fonts include:

Verdana
Times New Roman
Tahoma
Comic Sans MS

If there are any others that you'd like listed, just tell me, but all you have to do is add the name in the quotes!

I hope this is easier! Sorry for the confusion. If you have any further questions please just comment this thread.

Oh, and I'll show you how to do links too!

haha I know it's rather confusing. I wish I could show you guys what to just copy and paste, but it won't show up. It just disappears as soon as you put the < > around it.

YES!! You got it! Now, just remember for color, put the < then: font color="color code" (everything that is bolded should be in the parentheses!) then, finish it with >
