Celebs can get out of a Diabetic emergency all they need is a shot of insulin or half a cup of juice. Now if you can tell me what Diabetes is and what happens to you. Since you are so imperative we get cure you should what happens.

Type one diabetes can cause these complications, which are very serious, at least in my eyes. These are all from the ADA and other research.

Having type 1 diabetes increases your risk for many serious complications. Some complications of type 1 diabetes include: heart disease (cardiovascular disease), blindness (retinopathy), nerve damage (neuropathy), and kidney damage (nephropathy).

It can also cause serious conditions that can put you in a coma, when you become sick.

People with diabetes can develop many different foot problems. Foot problems most often happen when there is nerve damage in the feet or when blood flow is poor. (That can cause amputation possibly.)

I believe that is reason enough to find a cure.

Molly, I seriously love you. You are so calm...most people would be freaking out at this person, but you have to be all nice and show the facts and not get mad..(well I'm sure you're mad, but you hide it well)

Haha, seriously, I wish I could control myself as well as you.

Thank you for the siggy Molly!

Thanks ninja.jonas!

Re: Chelsea Lately...again

NO. You copied and pasted that. If YOU want a cure, YOU should know what happens to someone who has it. You shouldn't have to copy and paste.

Well, obviously now I know, but  that's beside the fact.

I know, without all the technical stuff, that diabetes is a tough thing to handle as a young adult. Your whole life is beginning and starting to bloom - and yet you have to watch what you eat like a hawk, continually check your blood sugar, and the emotional stress that you feel is insane. My uncle died from diabetes - from all the stress and the amount of dedication it does indeed take to monitor it. It's a tough thing to grasp, manage, and in Nick's case - do all while touring and not getting enough sleep - or for anyone, no matter what. A disease is a disease - and it isn't fun.

And just because someone doesn't know every detail about a disease, doesn't mean they don't have the right to support the search for a cure. I have the right to support anything - just as you have the right to support Chelsea.

You shouldn't be an advocate of a cure to a disease that you no nothing about. Chicken Pox is a disease, Strep Throat is a disease. Both of which only are a problem IF YOU DON'T GET IT CHECKED OUT. Not all diseases are serious.

I'm sorry to keep poking back at my previous posts, but I believe I allready proved I knew something about diabetes. Almost everyone (but not everyone, I won't make that generaic of a statement) knows at least something of diabetes. Or at least the fact that it is not something anyone wants.

And again, I'm not trying to hate on you, really.

Re: Chelsea Lately...again

I really don't think you'd feel this way if you had a diabetic child or diabetic sibling.  Until you live with it, you really don't know what it's like, so I don't understand how you think you can say it's not serious.
