Funny Garbo interview:
Bri and I were honored to have a chance to interview Garbo, and found that he is certainly as sweet, genuine, and hilarious as he seems to be in his blog. He filled in our questionnaire quite thoroughly. Here are his reponses to our questions word for word--not a thing edited out! Enjoy, and pop over to the forum to gush about it!
Favorite...
Color: the color of your eyes, sugar.
Animal: Girwhal. Giraffe + Narhwal = Girwhal.
Food: foods that don't involve much preparation are my favorites; i like to open something and eat it immediately. if i'm hungry i dont want to sit and cook something... i want to eat. that said, i am taking some cooking classes in the near future to correct this twisted logic of mine. my ideal meal would be cereal and key lime pie. isn't that sad?
Childhood memory: in kindergarten i saw a real leprechaun in the hallway on st. patrick's day.
Movies: my top 3 are The Baxter, Lucky Slevin, and Casino Royale. I mostly just buy concert DVDs though.
TV shows: Lost, The Office, Flight of the Conchords, Scrubs, Arrested Development, anything on the discovery channel.
Book of the Bible: well they're all pretty great. I love the gospels especially though because it's documentation of how Jesus Christ lived his life. He spent his time loving and interacting with people from all walks of life. Rich and Poor. Religious and Non-Religious. He didn't discriminate at all. He simply loved everybody, and even at the end of His life, when they all turned on him, he still forgave them with his dying breaths. I try my best, although I often fall short, to live my life like He did.
Band (erm, non-JB): my first favorite band was the California Raisins when i was 4 years old. When i was a teenager, I first got a bass to try to look like Mike Hererra from MxPx. But i really learned how to play bass by studying Flea's style of playing with the Red Hot Chili Peppers. In High school i pretty much exclusively listened to Dave Matthews Band which is probably why i can't stand them anymore. At this point i don't really have a favorite i try to listen to everything. I like music that's doing something new and different. But really, it's still all about the Raisins.
When is your birthday? February 30, 1986. it was the only year in history February had 30 days. A side effect of being born during this phenomenon is that i have gills, but sadly still can't breath underwater.
What is your biggest pet peeve? phone usage while eating with other people. expiration dates. slow internet.
What are you scared of? losing my luggage and my hair
Most memorable show (good or bad): Back in the summer of 2005 we opened for Jesse McCartney at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach, NC. We only played 4 songs but for all of us it immediately became our favorite show. The crowd was all squished up against the stage and all this energy got released. It was awesome. I mean, we've had so many fun shows since then, but that was our first show were we felt like something special happened. Also, any show when the song "Games" is played. Because it is the greatest song ever written.
Books: Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller. Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs by Chuck Klosterman.
If you could meet someone, living or dead, who would it be? George Washington Carver. He single-handedly brought the peanut to it's current state of popularity. I'd stab him with an epi-pen and see how he likes it.
