Does anyone know what grade he's in? I know I'm pathetic I've been in love with him for about 2 years and I can't figure out what grade he's in! I've been looking at some other posts, but they're really old, so Idk. Also, what year is he in high school (Presently, as it is summer and he will be in his _____ year next year.)  Is he going to be a Sophmore or a Junoir? I can't figure it out =( Sorry ~Keely

We don't know if he was held back in Kindergarten. I know that sounds weird,but a lot of guys don't know how to read when they go into the first grade, so they get held back for another year until they're ready. Plus, Nick's birthday is after the cut off date.

I'm also positive Joe got held back in Kindergarten too. He said he was finishing up school this year.

I'm really confused about this too! Actually, I'm confused about American school in general, which is surprisingly different from school here in Canada. For us, everyone born in 1992 would be finishing grade 10 right now, unless they skipped/failed a grade. Could someone explain the American school system to me? I'd really like to understand the differences. :)

I'd really like to understand the differences. :)   ohh, i used to live in Canada! I lived there for my 8th grade (grade 8) year. well basically, every school district has a cut off date. (some might be different than others) and everyone born before that date goes into that grade level. so, for instance, if nick (let's say he was just starting kindergarten) was going to school somewhere and the cut off date was nov. 1st, he would be able to start school. if the cut off date was sep. 1st, then he would have to wait until next year...? i don't know if i really explained that correctly. that's just what the jist of it is. but yeah, the cut off thing is mostly used when you start kindergarten or whatever.

Ohh.. yeah, I was kinda confused too cause in here it's like in Canada.. it depends more on the year you were born.. but I think only a few schools do the cut off thing, so when you see that case it's mostly cause the person has failed or sometimes kids start kindergarten a year later than usual.
