The Perks of Being a Wallflower?!

Ok so being the HUGE Jonas Brothers fan that I am I went out and bought Kevin's favorite book, the Perks of Being a Wallflower (I read Nicks and Joes favorites in like second grade, but I had never heard of this book before). I am sad to say this is the most perverted book I have ever read. The first sentance is " I am writing to you becuase she said you listen and understand and didn't try to sleep with that person at the party even though you could have." And it all goes downhill from there. WAY downhill.  That sentance is nothing compared to anything else. (Well it isnt really anything compared to anything anyway but this for purity ring Kevin?!) Like to the point of I stopped reading it for a week I was so discusted. Call me inmature but I don't think he should be telling everyone this is his favorite book. Im sure im not the only girl to read it just becuase it is his favorite book. So has anyone else read it? Lets just say if you haven't don't. Read the Magic Tree house or A wrinkle in time, Joes ane Nick's favorite books.

I read that book a few years ago. I didn't know that it was Kevin's favorite. I've read "Magic Tree House" and "A Wrinkle In Time" too. I'm a huge reader. I'm always reading something.

Re: The Perks of Being a Wallflower?!

i read the book about at year ago (not bc its kevs fave. personally i dont think ppl should read or watch thing just bc famous peole do i think we should all think for ourselfs -- but to each his own) so any way i did like or dislike the book it was just decent but i wasnt offended my it (mind you im 18 and in college)

And kevin is 20 so dont let it get to you that he read a book that has sex in it just bc he wears a purity ring doesnt mean he dosent know what sex is.

hope that didnt sound mean in any way just my point of view

Re: The Perks of Being a Wallflower?!

i read it once but just because the book mentions sex a lot doesn't mean anything, theres a lot more to that book then just sex or whatever...once you get past the pervertedness it really is an ok read, but it is a very mature book theres no doubt about that.

Re: The Perks of Being a Wallflower?!

um not to be rude but hes grown...theres nothin wrong with reading books like that...sex comes up in almost everything these days so wats the difference....i read books like that all the time and ten times worst. its entertaining. just because he read that book questions his purity ring. why. hes a adult....maybe you are to immature for a book like that. hes very mature.....maybe you read to much into it.  its a book, it doesnt make him who he is.

yes, this book is very...blunt. sometimes the topics went a bit too far for me, but i found it an interesting read because some writers seem to be afraid to say things exactly how they are because being brutal or shocking may turn people away, but this writer wrote about teenaged things and was very honest and real. but again at times it was too much honesty for me...i mean that freshman kid went through everything from drugs to parties and a lot more in the matter of a school year. pretty outrageous. i liked the reality behind some of the things and maybe kevin did do...it wasn't all sugar-coated and stuff.

Re: The Perks of Being a Wallflower?!

this has been one of my favorite books since i first read it. i was 14. it is a mature book, but it has a great message and it's really well-written.

Re: The Perks of Being a Wallflower?!

It took me awhile to reply because I got distracted by the tummy picture. How old is the OP 12? If you are too young to handle a book with a mature subject matter maybe you shouldnt read it just because he likes it. Or maybe next time base your next decision on research rather than what Kevin Jonas likes. I think I remember trying to read a Wrinkle in Time when I was in middle school but I just couldnt get through it.
