So my friend got tickets for the Burning Up concert in Detroit and invited me to go. I was so excited! but my dad won't let me go cuz I went to a concert in January (which was awesome!!!!) and they say they don't have the money right now, but I could totally pay for it myself!!!! and I offered to. but they still wonn't let me go. Any advice?
Ah, that stinks. Like, we have really bad tickets for a Virginia show, but the jonas brothers just posted a tour date closer, but im not allowed to go. Even if i did pay.
But not going at all really stinks. All I can say is don't bug them about it. Do some extra chores or something. You have to earn that ticket, and don't show that you're working for it. If you do something extra, then say "So how about that show?" They will know you are only doing extra so you can go.
Just bring it up every once in a while, once a week at most. I'm driving my family nuts about an upcoming Demi Lovato concert, and they hate it. But I know its hard not to talk about it!
Just don't complain. Understand that you did see them once, and maybe your family doesn't have the money. We hardly have enough. Maybe your parents don't want you spending money on tickets. Just make sure your friend doesn't give that ticket away so fast!
Good luck: ) It's always great seeing true fans at shows.
Well when i want someting (jb tix mostly):
- I start w/ helping out w/o being asked, (parents LOVE that)
- I also try to limit the whining/asking to once a week and NOT when they're busy or stressed. Try to spend quality time w/them just talking about thier day then bring it up cassually
- Try talking about "dangerous" concerts that ppl you know go to and how great a jb concert is.
- Most of all don't do anything to make them mad.
- Also don't do anyting too drastic, contrary to popular belif, parents KNOW when you're just doing something to get someting else...
Good luck! :)
