Thank you to everyone who has read and commented on this! It means a bunch to me, no joke, and you will never know how much. Haha, so I figured out a system here...everytime I write a new chapter (which is probably going to be frequently due to my addiction to writing) I shall post a new chapter...that way it's not too much to post an extra chapter here and there if you catch my drift. Haha.

Chapter 2
“Au revoir Madame Parke, voir tu demain.” I chirped while leaving my French class for lunch. I stopped at my locker to drop off my books, leaving my Biology one in my backpack since I have it after lunch.
“Haleigh!” I turned to my left and saw Brent running towards me with a sheet of paper in his hand. “Haleigh, look!” He yelled excitedly while trying to catch his breath. He extended the paper towards me and I grabbed it scanning over it and realizing it was a student schedule.
“One of the girls in class showed it to me and I thought I’d show it to you as proof that I’m right, again. Those girls are crazy about this guy. I can’t believe one of them hacked into the schools networking system and printed out his schedule.” I looked up in the right corner of the schedule and saw the name of the student: Jonas, Joseph A. My eyes bulged out of my head as I read over the classes.
“Brent you’re such an a.sshole!” I exclaimed shoving the paper at his chest. I slammed my locker shut and turned on my heel walking towards the courtyard with Brent not too far behind me.
“Haleigh wait!” I continued walking quickly into the courtyard. I sat down at our usual table with the usual, person.
“Hey Haleigh, how’s it going?” Rebekah asked while I took out my wallet.
“It’s going; you ready to go to the cafeteria?” I asked her wanting to ditch Brent for as long as I could, just so I could calm down.
“Ya, let’s go.” She replied, chirpy as always. Rebekah and I walked into the crowded cafeteria and into the lunch line. “What’s wrong?” She asked.
“Nothing.” I grabbed a lunch tray and a slice of pizza. She followed suit and did the same but grabbed piece of pepperoni instead of plain cheese.
“Don’t lie Hales,” I grabbed a small side salad while Rebekah opted for the peaches “I know you better than anyone, and right now, my Bekdar is telling me someone is a little pis.sy at the moment.” She would bring out the Bekdar, her radar that reads all of her friends’ emotions. Ever since 3rd grade Rebekah has had the special gift that is, her Bekdar.
“I’m just stressed with school. No big deal.” I answered flatly grabbing a cookie and a water bottle and handing the lunch lady a five dollar bill.
“Please, that’s a lie. You are the last person to ever be stressed about school.” She grabbed the rest of her lunch and paid the lady as well and we received our change. “School just comes naturally to you.” She continued as we walked back to the courtyard, trays in hand. “So tell me,” she sat down next to me at the round table and opened up her water bottle “what’s really bothering you?” I took a big bite of my pizza trying to stall.
“Look nothing’s wrong, I’m just not too fond of the new guy.” I took a sip of my water and looked at her.
“There’s a new guy?” She asked curiously and I nodded my head.
“Haleigh! Haleigh!” Brent ran over to the table and sat down next to Rebekah. “Where did you go? Hey Rebekah.”
“Hey Brent.” She said and went back to her pizza.
“I grabbed lunch with Bekah like always.” I shrugged my shoulders and took a bite of my salad.
“Then why’d you run off and pull out the ‘a’ word on me?” He asked confused looking at Rebekah for answers. She just sat there gazing over the crowd of people in the courtyard.
“Look guys, I just don’t think me and the new guy are going to get along.” Rebekah snapped her attention back towards me and Brent furrowed his eyebrows.
“What are you talking about; you haven’t even met him yet.” Brent said while Rebekah tapped her fingers against the table nodding her head and giving me the ‘he’s-right’ look.
“He has a point, how do you even know who he is?” She added. I shook my head.
“It’s doesn’t matter. I only have one class with him so it shouldn’t be that big of a deal.” I took a deep breath and pushed my plate to the side picking at my cookie.
“Well it’s a good thing it’s not a big deal.” Brent said with a laugh, watching someone behind me.
“Why?” I asked and pushed my food away entirely taking out my Biology book. I opened it up to the new unit I knew we would be going over today.
“Because the new hot guy is coming this way.” Rebekah said and I watched her wave her friendly hand to the person I couldn’t see, and didn’t want to see. Please don’t come over here, please don’t come over here.
“Hi. I’m Joe.” I froze, not moving my head, but watched him shake hands with my two best friends.
“I’m Rebekah.” I watched her give him a big smile and glance over at me. I picked up my Biology book and stood it up so I could hide behind it.
“I’m Brent. Nice to meet you, have a seat.” I gave Brent a death glare as Joe took a seat next to me. I could sense him looking at me and I felt Rebekah kick me from underneath the table.
“Sorry about my friend,” she started “this is Haleigh, but as you can see she’s kind of immersed herself in her Biology book.
“It’s ok, I get it. Senior year must be tough with all the applications to fill out; grades to worry about and stuff like that.” I felt myself smile but it quickly disappeared when I remembered who was talking.
“Ya well, Haleigh is usually pretty chill, so I don’t know what’s gotten into her.” Brent spat and I could feel his eyes piercing through my book and into me.
“Biology. I have that class next, do you?” I knew he was talking to me but I didn’t say anything. Rebekah cleared her throat obviously annoyed with my rude behavior.
“Haleigh he’s talking to you.” She said sternly.
“Oh! He is? Sorry I hadn’t noticed anyone else at the table.” I said from behind my book.
“Maybe you should answer him, without the book in your face.” Brent spoke up but I kept the book there.
“What was the question?” I asked trying to stall and think of a way to get out of the courtyard.
“Do you have Biology next?” Joe asked again, obviously confused and slightly annoyed with my attitude.
“Oh…I ugh,” Rebekah’s hand found the top of my book and she slammed it down so I couldn’t hide behind it. My eyes widened and I pursed my lips looking directly at her.
“Joe!” One of the girls from another table called just as the book hit the table. He turned around and saw the girl. “Come over here!”
“Sorry, if you’ll excuse me.” He said and got up. Rebekah and Brent smiled at him as he walked away and then turned to me.
“What is your problem Hales?” Rebekah yelled. “He was being perfectly polite and you acted like a jerk.”
“That was so unlike you.” Brent added in quietly. I grabbed my biology book and stuffed it back into my paint covered, patched up backpack and stood up.
“I’m sorry guys; I gotta go to the library. I’ll talk to you later.”
