Ch. 5
Kerry’s POV
It was yet another night after a show and the kids were already asleep. Kevin had taken a shower at the venue that night so we were waiting for Nick to get out of the shower and for him and Chrystal to join us in the back room. We decided to hang out because although we saw each other everyday with the kids and everything we hardly really got to talk anymore.
A few minutes later Chrystal came and plopped herself on the couch next to Kevin and I and Nick sat on the floor at Chrystal’s feet.
“I’m so gonna kill you Kerr.” Chrystal groaned.
“Huh? What did I do?” I asked.
“Lily started asking Nick and I all about babies… do you know how hard that conversation is to have with a four year old?” Chrystal asked. Kevin and I couldn’t help but laugh.
“Just you wait until Kevin starts having questions.” Nick said.
“Yeah not looking forward to that day or that talk.” I said with a laugh.
Just as I finished saying that Kevin’s phone went off.
“Hello?”
“Kevin!! You didn’t tell us Kerry was pregnant again!” Denise yelled so loud on the phone that everyone could hear.
“Wait mom how’d you know?” He asked. “Were you on Perez Hilton again?”
“…. That’s beside the point Kevin! Congratulations, you and Kerry must be really excited.”
“We are… we just found out the other day and just told Sophie and Kev last night so we’ve been trying to keep it on the down low, sorry we didn’t tell you or dad yet.”
“No it’s fine sweetie.”
“So seriously mom, how did you find out?” Kevin asked.
“You were right when you said Perez Hilton… I’ve gotta keep some sort of tabs on my boys while you’re gone.” Denise answered.
“Mom I’m 35, I think I can take care of myself.” Kevin answered.
“Oh I know sweetie, but you’ll always be my little boy… you’ll understand when Soph and Kevin are older. Anyway tell Kerry I say congratulations and keep us posted. We miss you and love you.”
“I miss and love you too mom, tell dad we all say hi.”
“Ok bye sweetie.”
“Bye.”
“I told you I should have bought the pregnancy test.” I said as I snuggled into Kevin.
“Sunshine you were so tired.” Kevin said as he held me tighter.
“I know, thank you baby.” I said as I kissed his cheek.
“So how are my mom and dad?” Nick asked.
“They’re pretty good; I think mom was just calling about the baby.” Kevin said as he placed his hand on my stomach. “By the way be careful what you do… mom is getting all of her information about us through Perez Hilton.” Kevin said with a laugh.
“Well I’m a good son and call her at least once a week.” Nick said.
“So do I you doofus.” Kevin answered back.
“So have you guys thought of names yet?” Chrystal asked before the guys got into a petty little fight or worse start wrestling. We knew our husbands too well.
“Yeah we have a few. For a girl we like Madelyn Denise or Nicole or Rose. Then for a boy we like Nathaniel Joseph or Cooper.” I answered.
“Aw Kerr, that’s so sweet the baby might be named after the guys.”
“Thanks.”
We were all quiet for a few minutes.
“Do you guys wanna play a game?” I asked.
“Depends on what kind of game.” Nick answered.
“Come on live a little snuggle.” Chrys said as she kissed his head.
“Alright I’m in.” Nick said. It made me laugh that Chrystal still had Nick wrapped around her little finger, although I’m pretty sure Lily could give her a run for her money.
“Ok so it’s like 20 questions I guess but not really. Basically we can ask anyone of us any question we’ve ever wanted to know about each other.” I said.
“Oh I like this idea.” Kevin said as he gave my knee a little squeeze.
“Reminds me of your journalist days.” Chrystal said.
“Who goes first?” Nick asked.
“Whoever…” I answered back.
“Do you mind if I go first? I have a question.” Nick asked me.
“Sure go for it.”
“Is there anything you would change about our relationship?” Nick asked. Chrystal looked nervous; I tried to buy her more time by making a comment to Nick.
“I think in a past life you were a journalist Nick.” I joked. He smiled at me but turned back to Chrystal.
“You want the truth?” She asked. He just nodded with an encouraging smile.
“Sometimes I wish you had a different career or you weren’t as famous. I mean you have a beautiful voice and you’re so talented and your job brought us together… but sometimes the fame is a little much especially now that we have Lily and Jake… Are you mad?” She asked shyly. Nick just smiled and leaned up and kissed her.
“No sugar I’m not mad.”
“Ok good.” She said as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
“Kerr… have you ever lied to Kevin?” Chrystal asked. I nearly spit out my water.
“Define lie…”
“Baby!” Kevin exclaimed.
“It was never about anything big. Like the time I threw you that surprise party I had to lie… or when I was pregnant with Kevin I lied a little because it was right before Nick and Chrystal’s wedding.” I sort of wanted to get back at Chrystal but couldn’t think of a question for her.
“Nick if you could sleep with any other girl who would it be?” You should have seen Nick’s face; he looked white as a ghost.
“Haha baby its ok.” Chrystal said as she kissed Nick’s cheek. “As long as you would never act upon it.”
“I never would… so um… I guess Camilla Belle.” Nick said.
“Didn’t she date Joe? That’s weird.” I said just giving Nick crap but I smiled letting him know I was kidding.
“Hey she was my celebrity crush first.” Nick said.
“Kevin what’s the most difficult thing you’ve ever done?”
“Well it’s tied, I would say one of the things was being away from Kerry when we first started the relationship… and now I’m so going to sound like a typical guy but waiting to have sex ‘til marriage… that was really tough.”
“Kerr, tell us something you have never told anyone before.” Kevin said.
“Before I met you Kevin, my biggest fear was being alone. I really thought that I wouldn’t find anyone to spend the rest of my life with… so I was very excited once we started dating and it became serious.” I said as I leaned in and kissed Kevin.
“Chrys, what’s an embarrassing experience you had in college?” I asked.
“I can’t believe I’m about to say this. Ok one night in college I sorta drank and well by the end of the night I was showing random people my really cute underwear, my roommate got me out of there before anything else happened.” Chrystal said. I just started laughing.
“Shut up Kerr.” She complained.
“Sorry… I just never heard that before and I never knew you had that type of side to you.” I said with a wink.
“Oh you’d be surprised.” Nick said with a smirk as he wiggled his eyebrows which sent everyone into a fit of laughter again.
“Nicholas!” Chrystal said with really pink cheeks.
We went back and fourth finding out things we had never really knew before. Finally around three we thought we should go to bed seeing as someone would be up by six we knew… I could not imagine running on three hours of sleep again, but I guess it was something I’d have to get used to with a baby on the way.
“Hey Kerr?” Kevin asked as he came into bed next to me.
“Yeah?” I asked with a yawn.
“I was figuring we could call the doctor tomorrow and set up an appointment when we go to La in two weeks.”
“Sounds good babe.”
“Ok, I love you Kerr… even if you have lied to me before.” Kevin said.
“Shut up!” I said as I lightly hit him. “And I love you too.” With one last kiss we went to sleep hoping for more than three hours of sleep.
