SHUT UP AND LOVE ME
“What is wrong with you!?” Rachelle screamed at the top of her lungs. Nick inwardly winced. He could tell she was angry, and I could also tell this wasn’t going to blow over.
“Rachelle I was going to tell you…” Nick started to say as he inched closer. She huffed in frustration.
“When Nick!?!? When you were on the other side of the world!?” she said upset. “Were you even going to tell me?” she asked quietly. He rushed to her side.
“Of course I would have told you, there just wasn’t a right time or place…” he said making excuses.
“That is not an excuse…” Rachelle said angrily. Nick was about to talk but they heard a commotion upstairs that seemed to be getting closer. Sure enough, Steenie was flipping out on Joe for the same exact thing.
“Steenie hear me out!” Joe tried to get her to listen. He grabbed her arm gently and she shrugged away and stormed to the front door.
“Joe unless you can explain to me why you kept this a secret….then….then I don’t ever want to see you ever again!” Steenie said as she slammed the door behind her. Joe stood in the same spot and stared at Nick and Rachelle.
“I can’t say it any better than that. She’s right. If you can’t tell me a good reason for not telling me about the tour then…I don’t want to see you either…” Rachelle said as she ran after Steenie.
Nick and Joe stayed still in their spots. They didn’t chase after the girls because they didn’t know why they didn’t say anything.
“Should we call them?” Joe asked his younger brother. Nick sighed.
“Do you know what you are going to say?” he asked Joe. Joe shrugged “No but I hate when she storms off. She isn’t thinking clearly. I don’t want her angry at the world because of me. I’ll think of something” Joe said as he started to dial Steenie’s number. It started to ring and they faintly heard her ringtone in the room. Nick ran over and grabbed her phone off the table.
“She forgot her phone here” Joe pointed out obviously. “See if you can get a hold of Chelly…” Joe said nudging Nick. Nick pulled out his phone and kept trying to call Chelly and it kept going to voicemail.
“Obviously she doesn’t want to talk to me…” he said in frustration. “Let’s give them a few hours to cool off then we can try to call again.”
Rachelle stared down at the screen of her phone as it vibrated, signaling she had yet another voicemail. Steenie looked over at her. “Call that boy back Chelly” she said in defeat.
“No. He was wrong and he is going to learn that he can’t just give me that puppy dog look and it will make things okay because it won’t. If I hear his voice too much I will end up forgiving him. And I don’t want to forgive him yet…” Rachelle said angrily.
Steenie chuckled “Yeah well there is a good chance that I am NEVER forgiving Joe for this so…at least you are going to forgive Nick at some point” Steenie said in frustration as the car accelerated even more, neither of them realizing how fast the car was going.
“Well maybe it’s best that we let them leave without forgiving them. Maybe that’s what they deserve…” Steenie said upset. Rachelle sighed. “I guess so…” she said unsure of the whole ordeal.
“STEENIE! WATCH OUT!” Rachelle screamed but it was too late. The semi-truck slammed into te side of their small car knocking them off the road. The car flipped over a few times before coming to land upright on the side of the road.
