ginny!!!!! gah! i missed you so much! glad you're back, even if it is sporatically. since you've been gone i've been fired, hired, then quit a job. oh, and i twitter now. lol.
finals suck! booo to them!
great chapter! i'm 99.9% sure real nick would be full of angst. i felt soo bad for abbey in this too. ugh, i would've thrown a book at him probably. or at least a pillow. but something.

Gin-Gin-Ginny. I believe we haven't talked in a very long time missy. :P I hope your finals went well, always a pain...blah.
Anyways, that last chapter was interesting. Most guys say girls are the moody ones, but have they met themselves? I have this one friend who I honestly think may be bi-polar. Hahaha. He's happy one minute than upset the next. Weird. *shakes head*
So yeah, good luck with writing chapter 9!! Hopefully we'll talk soon.

I am using this as a bump...and also, to let everyone know...MAY is National Masturbation Month.

And, I hope to have a new chapter up soon. I will be taking summer classes this year, in attempts to graduate in the fall. But, I am planning on continuing to work on this fic. My muse has been on vacation for some time now...hopefully will be back soon and I can get some writing done.

So, still no chapter, cause I'm being lazy...
BUT, I started my calculus class today...and I feel dumb. My TEACHER is, TOPS, 3 years older than I am. BOOOOO smart people.
Oh, and I had a JB moment today. It was actually kinda sweet. I was out getting a tan...cause I'm lazy...and I was listening to a portable radio...country music, of course. And, just as I turned it on, I caught the tail end of a convo. I could be totally wrong, but from what I understand, they played a recording, or maybe he called in, but it was of a soldier overseas, to his 10 year old daughter, saying he'd be home in time to take her to the Jonas Brothers concert she wanted to go to. HOW FREAKING CUTE IS THAT?!?!?!?!?! I just...my heart actually melted a little...ok, a LOT. Not so much about the Jonas Brothers, but that this big, bad-ass soldier is planning on going to a Jonas Brothers concert to make his little girl happy. HOLY SH.ITE, the adorableness is just...gah.

Yup...our soldiers are the bomb-diggety...I'm lame.
Which totally reminded me...the Colbert Report this week is from when he was in Iraq...and they had a clip of him going through 10 whole hours of basic training...and the drill sergent was going through Stephen's bag...and Stephen had a JB poster. Ahhh...I laughed through that whole frickin clip...he's such an awesome human being.

i saw almost every night of operation iraqi stephen but since it's waaay late at night and i've been working early mornings i don't remember much. just him going over the wall and flying last night and the spider hole which made me laugh so hard. and i was scared about the head shaving. the man had a fantastic head of hair. but he looks just as good with the crew cut (do people still say crew cut anymore?).

OK, so, I am REALLY late in getting a new chapter up...almost two months. Holy hell. Crazy madness.
Anywho...here it is...its short and sweet...just like the subject of said chapter...lol. Sorry...in a strange mood.
Chapter 9...Frankie
“What’s on your mind today, Frankie?” He’d looked troubled since he’d stepped inside Abbey’s office. He seemed very closed off, choosing to cross his arms, and to sit scrunched up in one corner of the couch.
“I don’t like girls.” Uh-oh. She hoped this topic wouldn’t lead to any questions about sex, as she hadn’t yet discussed with Mr. and Mrs. Jonas on what they were telling their children about the subject.
“Well, I’m a girl. So, you don’t like me?”
“You’re not a girl.” She co.cked her head to the side. He seemed so sure of his answer. “You’re a lady.” She nodded, and he gave her a slight smile.
“What don’t you like about girls?” His smile vanished, and a scowl appeared.
“Well, they only talk to me ‘cause of my brothers.” He huffed in frustration. “It’s like, whenever they recognize me as being the ‘bonus Jonas’ suddenly I’m so interesting.” He used air quotes and a helping of sarcasm to help convey his annoyance at the label he’d been given. “But it’s not even me they’re interested in. All I hear… ‘Nick is so cute’ or ‘Joe is so dreamy’ or ‘Kevin is awesome’.” He did his best to imitate a feminine voice. Abbey had to bite her lip to keep from smiling. “Makes me sick. It’s always about my brothers. Why can’t anyone just like me for me?” Instead of returning to a scowl, he pouted.
“What happened?”
“It’s not any one event. It happens all the time.”
“Well, Frankie, I like you for you. You’re a pretty fun kid to hang out with. Even if you do beat me at Monopoly.” Finally, a grin appeared on his face, and she returned it.
“I got all of my spelling words right this week. Even pumpkin. I remembered the extra ‘p’.” His arms dropped to his side, and his posture relaxed. “I don’t like silent letters though. They’re tricky.”
“They are, for a fact.” She sighed. “I was once in a spelling bee, and it was down to me and one other girl. And I misspelled ‘through.’ I forgot the ‘h’ at the end.”
“Oh, man. That must’ve sucked.”
“Big time. I was 10. I cried.” He laughed, and she couldn’t help but chuckle with him.
The two spent the rest of the session discussing his school work. He never directly mentioned his feelings about not being in a public school setting, but whenever he’d ask her about her own school experiences--that almost always seemed to include her then-peers, he wore a slightly hollow expression that no almost 9 year old should have.
“Ok, Frankie, I accept your challenge to a Scrabble game. I’ll be ready for you next week. And I'll hide all the 'h's.” He jumped up and skipped out of the room. Abbey shook her head, smiling…oh, to have that kind of energy.
