“Nick…what are you doing here?” Rachelle said confused. He looked hurt.
“That’s a very nice way to treat someone who’s been gone for months…” he said sarcastically. Rachelle smiled and engulfed him in a hug.
“Sorry you just surprised me…” she said smiling. “I thought you extended your tour for a few months…” Rachelle said pulling away from him.
“We were going to. But I got a voicemail, and it sounded like someone I cared about needed me. So here I am…” he said standing in front of her. She couldn’t believe her eyes.
“You seemed a little on edge when you left me that voicemail Chelle. Is everything okay?” he asked her concerned. She was about to talk when Crystal walked up to the door.
“Rachelle what is taking so long with the pizza?” Crystal said. She came face to face with Nick and Rachelle. “I totally just interrupted you. You know what. I’ll be on my way for now. Call me later Chelly” she said as she picked up her purse. “Nice to see you again Nick” she said before she hopped into her car and drove away.
“Can I come in?” Nick asked still standing on the front porch. Rachelle mentally slapped herself. “Of course you can come in. I’m sorry” she said. Nick went into the house and sat on the couch. Rachelle slowly walked over and sat next to him.
“So what did you need to talk to me about…it sounded really important” Nick said, his forehead wrinkling. Rachelle knew that meant he was really concerned and she felt bad for making him think something was really bad.
“Do you remember before you left for tour. We umm…” Rachelle started and Nick cut her off.
“Yeah I remember. That was a good night” he said rubbing her arm and smiling. She smiled back.
“I really don’t know how to tell you this…but I’m…pregnant” Rachelle said shutting her eyes waiting for Nick to flip out. After a few seconds she didn’t hear any yelling so she looked up at Nick. His eyes were fixed on her stomach.
“Nick? Say something…please” she tried. He put his hand up.
“
“Is it mine?” he asked her. She got appalled and stood up. “What do you think I sleep with every guy that I know!?” she said upset walking away. Nick got up and ran over to block her way.
“No..no I didn’t mean it like that. It’s just…wow. There is really something in there” he said pointing at her stomach. She wiped a few tears away.
“Yeah…there really is Nick. And I don’t know what to do about it” Rachelle said defeated as she sat down on the steps. Nick pulled her into a hug.
“You know I’m going to be here for you through this…” he said kissing her forehead.
“Nick we aren’t even dating…what’s going to happen when your fans get ahold of this information, and the press…and everything will just be chaotic. Maybe it’d be better if I just disappeared until the baby is born…” she said sadly. Nick made her look him in the eye.
“You are not leaving me. You are not leaving at all. You are going to have the best doctors…the best support…the best everything. I won’t settle for anything else” he said.
“How are we going to tell your family?” Rachelle asked scared. Nick just sighed loudly. “We’ll figure it out together alright. Don’t worry about that right now…”
