Behind Enemy Lines
Chapter 1:
“This is ridiculous,” Chrystal groaned, as yet another girl screamed in her ear.
“If another stupid teeny yells out her undying love for Joe, I’m going to ring someone’s neck!” Aisling exclaimed, a deep frown on her face.
“Take a deep breath, sweetie,” Chrystal chuckled, placing her hand on her friend’s shoulder, “We’re almost there.”
“That is definitely something to be happy about,” Aisling smiled, as she peered past the heads of all the screaming girls, at the three amazing guys standing at the front of the room.
“Mmhm,” Chrystal agreed, giggling happily as she stood on her tiptoes to catch a glimpse of Nick.
The two girls had been standing in the long line at the meet and greet almost all day. They had endured being bumped into constantly, and having their ears screamed into by hundreds of screaming girls. All of that just so they could spend just a few minutes with Kevin, Nick, and Joe.
“It’s totally going to be worth it though,” Chrystal smiled.
“Oh hell yes,” Aisling smiled brightly, “I finally have my chance to flirt it up with the one and only Joe Jonas. I just wish we weren’t here with all of these little teenies.”
“Why does the average Jonas fan have to be like 13 years old?! It sucks!” Chrystal exclaimed, as they moved up a few feet in the line.
“But we’re way more awesome than all these girls,” Aisling smiled, “And no one says that you have to be 13 to be a fan. You and I both know that the older fans are the best.”
“That’s for sure,” Chrystal giggled.
On the other side of the room Nick’s eyes scanned across the crowd of screaming girls in front of him. He would never get used to the sound of hundreds of girls screaming right in his ear. He was surprised he wasn’t deaf already.
He looked from girl to girl in the line, nonchalantly signing papers that were shoved in his face, by girls who were practically crying at the mere sight of him.
His eyes stopped moving when he spotted a beautiful brunette standing out in the crowd. She was talking to another girl, and they were acting completely normal. There was no screaming, no crying… they were completely unfazed.
“Joe,” Nick said, nudging his brother in the ribs as he continued to sign autographs, pretending to be interested in the girls in front of him, when he was really only interested in the beautiful girl still standing in line.
“What?” Joe questioned.
“Do you see those girls?”
“I see a lot of girls, Nick,” he laughed, his eyes panning the crowd.
“Do you see the girl in the purple shirt, brown hair-“
“Talking to the gorgeous blonde in the blue shirt?” Joe questioned, a smile spreading across his lips.
“Those girls,” Nick said.
“They’re both smoking hot,” Joe grinned, keeping his eyes locked on Aisling.
“Yeah I know… but they’re also like completely normal… no crying… screaming… freaking out. That like never happens.”
“It’s amazing,” Joe said, “And they look older. I love fans who are actually the same age as us.” Joe smiled and placed both of his hands on the edge of the table in front of him. He stared intently at Aisling, hoping that she would look back at him.
Just as the girls moved further up in the line, Aisling felt the unnerving feeling that someone was staring at her. She glanced over to where the guys were standing, and saw that Joe was staring right at her. She glanced over her shoulder to see if it was someone else he was staring at. Finding no one behind her, she looked back over at Joe. A crooked smile fell over his lips, and he winked at her.
“I’m not imagining that am I?” Aisling asked Chrystal.
“Nope, definitely not.”
A smile spread across Aisling’s lips, and she brought her hand to her mouth, pressing a kiss to her fingers, and blowing it in Joe’s direction with a flirtatious smile. Joe smiled at her, reaching up to snatch the imaginary kiss from the air.
“Would it be rude to have Big Rob kick every girl in here out, except for those two girls?” Joe asked Nick.
“Yeah it would be, but I totally wouldn’t blame you,” Nick chuckled. He kept his eyes locked on Chrystal, who was staring intently back at him. He lifted his hand up slightly to wave at her. All of the girls around Chrystal started screaming, believing the wave was directed at them.
Nick was pleased to see that Chrystal did not start freaking out, but instead just smiled shyly back at him, an adorable blush rising to her cheeks.
“This is crazy, Ais,” Chrystal giggled, as her eye contact with Nick was broken when another girl stepped in front of him, shoving a poster in his face.
“I know,” she smiled, “But obviously Nick and Joe like older fans better also.”
As the girls continued to move up in line, the volume in the room started to die down, since there weren’t many girls behind them.
“I think I can hear what they’re saying,” Nick whispered to Joe, concentrating on the girls’ conversation, as Joe stepped closer to Nick trying to hear as well.
“Aw, look,” Aisling smiled, as Kevin picked up a little girl.
“Kevin is going to be such an amazing father,” Chrystal smiled, watching his interaction with the little girl.
“Uh oh… I think they might both be Kevin girls,” Nick sighed, as he signed another poster.
“Oh great…” Joe groaned, completely disappointed.
“Too bad he’s already married,” Aisling said, “She is one lucky girl.”
“Wait… maybe they’re not…” Nick mumbled.
“She really is,” Chrystal said, “But that’s ok, I’d rather be an even luckier girl and have Nick.”
“Awesome,” Nick smiled to himself.
“If the blonde likes you too I’m seriously going to beat you up right now,” Joe growled. Nick just rolled his eyes.
“You can have him, Chrys,” Aisling chuckled, “I’ll take Joe… anytime… anywhere.”
“Thank you God,” Joe smiled brightly.
The girls glanced over at the guys, causing them to immediately look back at the girls they were signing autographs for.
“Wow he looks sexy,” Aisling purred, her eyes scanning over Joe’s body. Joe’s ears perked up, and he smiled to himself, as Nick elbowed him playfully.
“They both are… but look at Nick… wow… he gets better looking everyday,” Chrystal smiled. Nick grinned, as Joe elbowed him back.
“It’s absolutely crazy that two guys can look so good, and still be virgins,” Aisling said.
“It’s insane… but if it were up to me… Nick wouldn’t be a virgin much longer,” Chrystal giggled, “If when we go up there, Nick said that he wanted to take me backstage and have his way with me, I’d do it… no questions asked.”
“Yeah, same here,” Aisling smiled, “I’d do anything Joe wants me to… anywhere… anything… I’d absolutely do it.”
“Are you hearing this?” Joe asked Nick, his eyes widened slightly.
“I… uh… y-yeah,” Nick stuttered, now finding it incredibly difficult to remember his name, let alone sign it.
“On a bed… up against a wall… in a pool… I’d do him in a heartbeat,” Aisling smirked, her eyes focused intently on Joe. She took in his muscular torso; his strong arms and chest… perfectly sculpted. The man was perfect in every way.
“That’s inappropriate,” a girl, not much older than 15, said to Aisling and Chrystal. Nick and Joe both audibly groaned, annoyed that the girl interrupted them from hearing all about the girls’ fantasies.
“What’s inappropriate, sweetie?” Aisling asked.
“You shouldn’t talk about the Jonas Brothers like that. They wear purity rings,” she said.
“Um… ok… and like you never think about it?” Aisling laughed.
“No,” the girl said plainly. Chrystal and Aisling rolled their eyes.
“Give me a break,” Aisling groaned, turning back to focus on Joe again.
Don’t get them wrong. Aisling and Chrystal both respect Nick and Joe’s decision to stay pure until marriage, but that doesn’t mean that they can’t still think about them in that way.
“I can’t wait to talk to that girl,” Joe smirked, flipping his hair out of his eyes, and glancing over at Aisling.
“Me neither,” Nick replied, his eyes focused on Chrystal again.
The girls moved up a few more spaces in line, and there were now only a few people ahead of them. The line continued to move, and it was finally their turn to meet the boys.
“Hi girls,” Kevin said, smiling brightly at them, reaching out to shake hands with Aisling and then Chrystal, “I’m Kevin.” Kevin Jonas truly was one of the sweetest guys you will ever meet.
“Hi Kevin, it’s nice to meet you,” Aisling smiled. Joe had the sudden urge to grab Aisling’s arm and pull her over to him, so that he could spend more time with her than his brothers.
“Hi,” Chrystal said, smiling as well. Nick couldn’t take his eyes off of her, loving the way her eyes lit up when she smiled.
Kevin signed their posters, and then both girls moved on to Nick. He signed Aisling’s poster, and shook her hand. She soon moved on to Joe, leaving Chrystal in front of Nick.
“Hi,” Chrystal said, smiling shyly at Nick.
“Hi, I’m Nick,” he said, avoiding eye contact with her as he signed her poster. He put his pen down and held his hand out for her to shake. Chrystal felt a sudden surge of confidence, and quickly grabbed Nick’s hand and pulled him towards her, leaning over the table to hug him. Nick wrapped his arms around her tightly, running his hand up and down her back.
“I’m Chrystal,” she whispered into his ear.
“Chrystal…” Nick repeated, “It’s very nice to meet you.”
“You too, Nick,” she smiled as they parted.
“Hi Joe,” Aisling said, smiling brightly at him.
“Hey,” Joe smiled back, opening his arms, and pulling her into a hug. They parted, and Joe frowned slightly.
“What?” Aisling questioned.
“That wasn’t a very good hug,” he pouted.
“What? I-“ Joe cut her off by walking around to the side of the table, grabbing Aisling’s hand and pulling her in for another hug. She smiled as her body pressed firmly against Joe’s, rather than having to lean over the table.
“Much better,” he said, slowly letting go of her. Aisling smiled at him, and gently ran her hand down his arm.
“Would you mind signing this for me, Joe,” she smiled, pointing at the poster lying on the table.
“Oh, yeah, no problem,” Joe said, moving back behind the table, pulling his pen out of his pocket, “What’s your name?”
“Aisling,” she replied.
“Beautiful name for a beautiful girl,” Joe smiled, causing Aisling to blush slightly, as Joe started to write, “So that’s spelled like A-S-“
“No,” Aisling said, “A-I-S-L-I-N-G.”
“Oh really?” Joe asked, looking slightly confused, “Wouldn’t that be pronounced-“
“No, it’s Aisling,” she giggled.
“Ok,” Joe chuckled, scribbling his big loopy signature onto the poster.
“It’s Irish, for dream,” Aisling smiled, “So maybe your dream girl isn’t from Australia…”
“Nope… I’m pretty sure she’s from Ireland,” Joe smiled. Aisling nodded.
“I do think accents are pretty sexy… including Irish accents,” he smirked.
“Oh do you? Well I think you’re sexy,” she said, leaning closer to him over the table.
“Oh yeah?”
“Girls! Move along!” Big Rob’s booming voice yelled out.
“Big Rob…” Nick whined pathetically, glancing over at Chrystal and then back at him. Big Rob took a hint, and backed off.
“I like your shirt,” Nick smiled sweetly at Chrystal.
“Thanks,” she smiled back, “I like… uh… you.” Chrystal groaned as soon as she heard the words come out of her mouth.
Nick chuckled quietly, smiling as a blush spread across Chrystal’s cheeks again.
“I’m sorry-“
Nick cut her off, “You’re cute.”
Chrystal giggled, continuing to blush, “Thank you.”
“Hopefully I’ll see you out in the crowd tonight,” Nick said, smiling at her.
“I hope so,” she smiled back.
“Have a good time,” he said, pushing the poster towards Joe.
Joe absentmindedly signed the poster, and shook Chrystal’s hand, keeping his eyes focused on Aisling.
“Have a great show tonight, Joe!” Aisling exclaimed, as the group of girls behind them started pushing their way towards the guys.
“Thanks, I’ll be looking for you in the crowd,” he smiled, as he and Nick both waved goodbye to the girls. Chrystal giggled excitedly as she walked away from table. Aisling followed behind her, until she heard her name being called. She spun around to see Joe moving towards her.
“Aisling,” he said, walking up to her.
“Yeah?”
“So anytime… anywhere, huh?” he smirked. A blush crept across her face. She had no idea that the guys had been able to hear every word she and Chrystal said.
“Um… yeah…” she giggled nervously. Joe placed his hands on her arms, and leaned forward, so that his lips were right next to her ear.
“Give me a time and place, baby… I’ll be there…” he whispered. Aisling’s jaw dropped slightly as Joe pulled away. He winked at her, and waved goodbye, returning to the table.
Aisling slowly walked away, unable to comprehend what just happened.
“Standing in that line all day was completely worth it,” Chrystal giggled excitedly, as she and the shocked Aisling walked into the venue. It was going to be a fantastic night for the two of them.
