Chapter Two.
Erin's POV
This isn't exactly how I intended to spend my Saturday. Everything's wrong. First, NeverShoutNever isn't playing. Apparently they play on the 21st, not 12th. I guess this is what happens when you ask a partly dyslexic friend of yours. And I have no clue who's playing today. Second, I have no clue where that girl is. Such a great friend to leave me stranded in an amusement park all alone. (If you haven't realized, that's sarcasm.) She won't even pick up that *CENSORED* phone. Third, my throat is dry and that's killing me. Might as well head over to the food bar.
When I get to there, the line is like 50 miles line! Okay, that's a lie. But it seriously it's long. Anyways, with a sigh I get in line. While waiting, I spend that moment to try to get a hold of Kaitlin. It's totally useless.
After what felt like forever, it was finally my turn. I smile and take out my money and realize I only have 5 bucks. My smile went away instantly because my money was with Kaitlin. I only had enough for one large slurpee. I sighed and ordered a blue rasberry, mixed with watermelon. I took a sip and let the cold liquid mush go down my throat. It felt good, and with that I headed towards the rides. I had a bracelet which let me get on rides for free. And let me tell you, it wasn't cheap. But on my way out, this dude comes out of no where spilling my slurpee on the floor.
"No!" I scream, and I'm just about to scream at the dude until I realize who he is.
"Woah, sorry." he said.
"Woah, your Joe Jonas!" I say practically screaming.
"Shhhhh!" He covers my mouth and I look to see that there weren't any people around.
"Hey, where did everyone go?" I ask after he removes his hand.
"It's closed for a private thing. You're not exactly supposed to be here, which leads me to ask what are you doing here?" He asked.
"Yeah, nice to meet you too." I say sourly.
"I'm sorry," he sighs, "I'm being rude."
"Yeah, kinda." I smile, "I'm Erin."
"Joe, of course I'm guessing you already know." I nod.
"So are you coming to the concert," he asks.
"No not exactly. I'm actually here for the NeverShoutNever concert but thats on the 21st. So I'm kinda early. I'm probably gonna head home once I find my friend."
"Oh," he looks at the floor to my spilled slurpee. "Listen, I'm really sorry about your drink, let me buy you another one."
"I would pass on that offer but since I'm short on money and my throat is killing me, I accept." I smile.
After we get our drinks, we sit down at a table. Even though it's tremendously cool sitting with Joe Jonas, its very awkward as well. For the first time I can't think of anything to say.
"Uhm, so the weather, its nice." I say trying to break the silence.
"Sure," he looks at me weird. I look down at my drink.
"Thanks for this," I say holding it up.
"No prob." he says simply. Okay so tell me why I always imagined Joe Jonas as the hyped up one of their group. Just when I was about to say something totally lame again my phone rings. I look at the caller ID and see it's Kaitlin.
"Sorry I gotta take this," I tell him. I'm pretty shocked at my words. Was I blowing Joe Jonas off for a phone call? Of course not. I'd be nuts.
"Kait! Where the heck are you! You left me like 2 hours ago!"
"Crap! Sorry. Jake called and he picked me up. I totally forgot. You know how I get when I'm around him. I totally forgot. Forgive me?"
"No! Kait, you left me alone! You know how I feel like that in public."
"I'm sorry time a billion. And if you don't except I'll just have to annoy you 'till you do."
"God, Kait, your a real jerk," I tell her, "but fine. "
"Good, rate Jake for me?"
"No! I'm not gonna rate my cousin! That's gross."
"Come on, please."
"Fine, hold on. I'll call you back."
So I walk back to the table. "Hey, do me a favor?" I ask.
"No I will not give you my number," he says out of no where.
"What? No, can you rate some one for me?"
"Rate someone? sure," he laughs which makes me smile. So I show picture of Jake and me. Recently from a family dinner we had.
"Wait rate you or the dude?" he asks as I hand my phone over to him.
"The dude." I tell him.
"I hope you know that I don't roll that way," he says.
"I know, but I need an opinion."
"Are you two..." he starts.
"Gross. Thats disgusting. That's my cousin." I cut him off. He looks at the picture for a moment. "It's for a friend." I tell him, "Just pick a number between 1-10"
"Hmm, nice hair, got a nice jaw muscle, I give him a 6." he says.
"Thanks," I smile. After that we talk for a while, not as awkward but fun. Nothing personal, just random stuff and rating people as they walk by. Nothing bad.
After a while, his phone rings as we walk out.
"Sorry I gotta go, ya know. Sound checks and stuff."
"Oh, sure. I probably should be heading home." I tell him trying not to feel upset and put a smile on my face. He looks at me for a while and I'm afraid he would be able to see right through me.
"Hey why don't you come by later, for the concert. We could do something later." he says handinng me a pass. Was he asking me out? Of course not. I wouldn't if he did.
"Do you normally give out free passes to girls you just meet?" I ask taking the pass. It wouldn't hurt to see a free show.
"No, but then again I normally don't meet someone who who wants me to rate." He winks.
