Chapter Two
I don’t wanna dream about, all the things that never were, maybe I could live without
I turned my head and looked out the window. Mumbling angrily to myself, then I grabbed the plate of food on the side-table and tossed it against the wall. Just as I threw the food, Summer walked in and gasped. She walked straight over to his me and wrapped me up in her arms. I broke down and started crying while Summer hugged me. “Summer, what am I gonna do? Everything's a mess; my life's a mess”
“Buddy, you've got to keep it together. It'll be okay.” She whispered
“No, Sum. Not without him...” I sobbed
A Week Later
“Dude, come on, get out of bed!” Tricia exclaimed, throwing the blankets off of me.
“No.” I mumbled as I buried my face in my pillow. No one really understood what I was going through, Nick had been my everything. I thought of all people Tricia would have known, I guess I was wrong, again.
When I looked up Jessica was over by the windows, opening up the blinds to let some sunlight into the room she looked over at Summer and sighed. Ever since Nick left, I had hardly left his bed, not even to take a shower and it was beginning to drive them both crazy.
“You're starting to smell disgusting, Hun.” Tricia tried, as she sat at the end of my bed. I didn't respond, I just waved her away. “C'mon, we're about to go back to school and we've got tons of free time this time to whatever we want. Do you really want to spend your time in this dark, smelly room?”
I mumbled something.
“What?”
I didn't repeat myself. Summer looked up at Tricia and shook her head. “It's no use, let's go.”
The two walked out of my room and I just pulled the covers back over my head.
Maybe they were right, what if I was overreacting to all this. If I kept this up I would never move on, so then I decided.
I stumbled down the stairs.”Kirsten! Hey, decided to get up?” Tricia smiled
I shot her an angry glare. I walked into the living room and flopped onto the couch. I guess my decision to get up was not so good. “Uh, your hair's looking good. Nice and bouncy and shiny... And blonde..?” Summer giggled, Tricia laughed to herself and punched Summer playfully in the arm.
“Whatever. I'm going back to bed." I said, getting off the couch.
“No! No, no, no." Tricia said as she grabbed my arm and pulled me back down. I was too weak to even fight back. “Look, there’s a party tonight. And everyone's gonna be there. They think you're totally cool with Nick being with her gone, so we need you to come. And we need you to act normal. That means smiling, no moping, no angry mumbling, and for goodness sake... Take a shower.
I sighed and nodded. I knew I couldn't let everyone see me like this.
Tricia i used your name, i needed a best friend... :D
