Chapter Ten

Winding circles take me back to

KEVIN

"This is so amazing, Kevin," Tricia complimented, grinning. She gazed out into the ocean, running her fingers through the warm sand. "Just a few more weeks." She paused; her smile faded. "You're not getting cold feet, are you?" My breath caught in my throat at the thought.

"What?! No! How could you even think that? I love you," I rambled. She shook her head, smiling again.

"I love you, too. I just don't want you to leave me." I took her hand in mine.

"Never. I would never leave you." I leaned in to kiss her, but just before I could, my phone went off. Tricia giggled and I frowned, pulling out my phone. "Hello?"

"Kevin? They're gone," Joe said, sounding panicked.

"Calm down, Joe. Who's gone?" I asked, trying to maintain my composure.

"Nick, Steenie, and...Ellie - " He choked out Ellie's name. " - are gone. I can't find them anywhere."

"Maybe they went for a drive, or a movie, or something," I said, attempting to sound calm. But inside I was panicking, too.

"Nick's car is still here. Something bad is going on. I can feel it."

JOSEPH

After getting off the phone with Kevin, I sat down at the kitchen table, the same place I had yelled at Ellie not long ago.

Kim placed her hands on my shoulders. "Are you this tense all the time?" she asked jokingly.

"Only when I don't have Ellie," I answered. "And knowing that Antonio could take her away from me at any time..." my voice trailed off. She sighed and sat down on my lap.

"You know what I think? She doesn't even deserve you. You're way too good for her. Besides, you have me now." I leaned my forehead against hers and mustered up my best smile.

"Yeah," I agreed. "You're right. Thanks, Kimmy Cake."

STEENIE.

A hand immeadiatly flung to my buldging stomach as I winced in pain. Roughly, it had been about one week into the pregnancy so far.
"Are you doing this because og Antonio?" I asked harshly. "He doesn't have to be involved" I added referring to Nick.
The masked figure chuckled. "This has nothing to do with Antonio" he said. "Masters Antonio and Alexander have never spoken to each other since. I am taking you to my mistress".
I looked at Ellie, and I could feel Nick's questioning look on me.
"Mistress?" I repeated. "You mean Alexander and Antonio have a sister?"
The man chuckled. "No, you don't udnerstand" he said. "My mistress is the older sister of Alexander. Antonio has no sisters that I am aware of".
I looked at Ellie and she shrugged. "What does he have to do with all this?" I repeated again.
The car stopped and the masked figure got out of the car. I watched as he entered the building and felt Nick squeeze my hand.
"You're being brave" he whispered. "Everything is going to be okay"
I felt tears in my brown eyes. After all I did to Nick, he still can find a way to love me?

NICK.

I squeezed Steenie's hand and pulled her into a hug. She rested her head against my chest. "I know you still have it" I said.
She looked up at me with wide eyes. "W-What?" she asked.
I smirked at her then looked at Ellie, who looked as equally surprised as I did.
"Steenie, what do you have?" Ellie asked.
Steenie sighed and reached into her shirt. Her hand took out a small silver phone. Ellie gasped in surprise and Steenie immeadiatly put it back into her shirt.
"It's Kevin's" she said quietly. "He gave it to me when we left America"
I smiled at her and made a mental note in my head to thank Kevin if I ever escaped. Because he gave Steenie his phone, we just might have a chance in escaping. But only if we used it at the right time.
