Chapter 1
He nuzzled my neck, the fluttering feeling in my stomach growing wilder every minute. Joe was the best thing that ever happened to me, mostly because he always knew exactly what to do to make me feel comfortable. Except one thing is limited; Ashley. Joe and her are really close, and I think she has a crush on him, or something. Whenever she comes into the room, Joe tries to be nice by respecting the fact that she doesn’t want to see us being all romantic and couple-y. And they hang out a lot, which leaves me with Nick and Kevin. It doesn’t bother me. I’m not a selfish person, so I respect that Joe likes to hang out with his friends.
Speaking of Ashley…
Joe pulled away when he heard her approaching. He straightened up and said, “Hey, Ash. What’s up?”
“Oh, nothing. Frankie and I just got back from the park. He chased the geese around. It was pretty funny. How are you?” she sat down next to him, looking at him sincerely.
“I’m…um…great,” he grinned quickly. “Hey, Taiylor,” he looked at me. “Could you go find Nick and Kevin? I need to talk to them about…something.”
“Thanks for the specifics,” I snorted, sarcasm dripping in my voice. “Yeah, sure I’ll get them. Besides, I’m really in the mood to read so I’ll tell them to get down here and then I’ll go upstairs.”
“Okay, sounds like a plan,” Joe winked, making sure Ashley couldn’t see. I smiled, but it faded away when I looked at Ashley. She seemed so out of sync. I felt bad for her that she had to watch us, so I quickly turned away and hurried out of the room.
It wasn’t very hard to find Nick and Kevin. Actually, it was completely easy. They were outside, playing their guitars on the steps. I realized the song was Lovebug, so when Nick stopped singing I jumped in at Joe’s part.
“Now I’m speechless, over the edge,” I screamed. “I’m just breathless. I never thought that I’d catch this Lovebug again. Hopeless, head over –”
“What are you doing?” Kevin laughed.
“I’m turning into the fourth member of the Jonas Brothers. But now it’s the Jonas Brothers Plus The Sister That’s Not Really Their Sister band,” I said without taking a breath.
“So, what brings you out here Jonas Sister?” Nick smiled genuinely. “Joe hanging out with Ashley?”
“You guessed it. He actually told me to tell you guys to go talk to him.”
“All right. We’re just bored, so what better way to liven the mood than to play some music?”
“Exactly!” I smiled. “So, go inside, talk to your brother. I’m going upstairs to read.”
“Nerd,” Kevin coughed. I glared at him playfully and he just grinned like an idiot.
“Or maybe I’ll just take a nap.” I turned around to go inside.
“Lazy,” Nick coughed.
“Okay, that’s it.” I turned around and both Kevin and Nick jumped up and started running for the hills, their laughs echoing back to me. When I couldn’t see them, I nodded satisfactorily and went back inside to my world or reading.
Okay so I know its kinda short. But I just wanted to get something out because I might not be on for a few days. I have a tendency of getting grounded lol. Enjoy.
