Chapter Uh…?
“So…” Nick said, rocking on his heels.
“So…?” I asked back. “What was that back there?” I said smiling as I gestured to Joe and Olivia.
“Well, I just wanted to talk to you alone and… Olivia was kind of preventing me from doing that.”
Oh My God. Nick Jonas wanted to talk to me alone!!!
“Oh…cool.” I replied looking around.
“Yep.” Awkward silence.
“….So what exactly did you want to talk about?”
“Well, actually, I-I was wondering if maybe you wanted to hang out sometime.” He said looking at me shyly in the eyes.
This was not happening. Nick Jonas wanted to hang out with me! Calm down, Jessica, just treat him like you would treat any other guy. Okay, if he were any other guy I would… um… WELL HE ISN”T ANY OTHER GUY! HE’S NICK FREAKING JONAS!
“Uh, Jessica?” Nick’s voice snapped me out of my trance. I looked at him as he stared at me nervously.
“Oh right. Of course. I’d love to, but as friends right?” I wanted to slap myself. Why would I ask that?! I don’t want to be just friends!
“Oh um… yeah. Right.” He said looking at the floor next to me, a little disappointed.
“I mean, not that that’s all I'll ever see us as,” As I said this, he looked up at me, “It’s just, I don’t really know you. But who knows what’ll happen after that right?” I smiled a little to hide my nervousness. I must’ve sounded like an idiot.
“Right.” He said with a small smile.
“Dude.” Joe’s voice cut off our little moment as we both turned to look at him on our left. He was walking towards us with Olivia slowly dragging behind. “Mom and Dad called. They told us we need to get back to the tour bus.”
“Oh… okay.” Nick spoke, without taking his eyes off me. I could feel my cheeks burning up but I quickly avoided his gaze. “So, can I have your number or aim or something?”
“Of course. How else would we hang out then silly?” I asked him teasingly as I took a piece of paper out of my purse and I wrote down all my information. “There.”
I handed him the paper and he looked it over curiously. Then he carefully put it in his back pocket and looked at Joe.
“Ready?”
“Wait! How am I supposed to contact you?” I asked him before he could leave.
“Well, this kinda sucks, well, really sucks, but I’m only supposed to give my number to people I trust. And don’t get me wrong, its not that I don’t trust you, its just I don’t really know you and trust me, when crazy fan girls get your number, you have to change it RIGHT away and it gets really annoying.”
I giggled a little and he just looked at me with a fake shocked look.
“Are you…laughing at me?” I just giggled at him more. He poked me in the side, causing me to jump. “That’s’…” poke “not” poke “funny!” he said as he started full on tickling me.
“AAH! NICK STOP!” I screamed as I tried to get away, laughing. He wrapped me in his arms as he kept tickling me, not allowing me to get away. “I’M S-SORRY! ITS NOT… ITS NOT FUNNY!” My sides ached from laughing so hard. He started laughing and finally and finally stopped tickling me, but he kept his arms around me.
I just leaned against him as I tried to catch my breath, still smiling from before. He was making it kind of hard to catch my breath though, since he was so close to me.
We heard a cough next to us as we realized Joe and Olivia were still standing there.
“Sorry to break up this love fest but mom and dad asked us to be back at the bus,” he looked at his watch, “10 minutes ago.” Nick quickly let go of me and mumbled an
“Oh crap.” I frowned a little at the loss of contact. “So, I guess I'll see you soon?” he asked as he walked over to me and gave me a hug.
“Yeah, sure.” And with that he walked out of the room and probably out of my life. Sure I gave him my number but he could have any girl in the world he wants… why would he want me?

Olivia’s POV [when Nick and Jessica are talking]
“Let’s go this way shall we?” Joe said as he led me off in the opposite direction of Nick.
“What did you do that for?!” I asked him once we got out of earshot.
“Nick was giving me the signal to leave them alone!” he said in a ‘duh’ voice.
“What?...why?” I asked confused. He waved at me at the concert so why was he all of a sudden showing interest in her? She wasn’t even that pretty.
“You can’t see it? He obviously likes her!” He said as he pointed to them. I looked over and saw Nick with a nervous look on his face and Jessica in a daze. He doesn’t like her. He couldn’t. I know what they were talking about… he was asking her how to ask me out! That’s what he was doing!
Why else would he wave at me during the concert and then get so nervous when asking Jessica something?
