~*~*It’s all Ok in the End*~*~
For a moment, she forgot about all the responsibilities that came with being a mother.
She lay there on the couch with her daughter sleeping on her chest, waiting for anything to happen, but still enjoying the peace that came with the silence of her sleeping daughter.
She managed to relax her whole body, something she hadn’t done in a long while.
As she lay there, her 2 month old daughter resting against her body, her eyelids became heavy. She fell asleep to the rhythmic breathing of her daughter.
She entered that land, the mystic land of dreaming, where everything was perfect.
In her dream, she wasn’t a single mother, struggling to support her daughter, relying on the checks he sent every once in a while. She wasn’t relying on her parents for support. She was successful, older, and married to the father of her child.
In her dream, she wasn’t eighteen, trying to manage her child, her job, and earn a college degree. She was already happy. She had her dream job, she was a successful Broadcast Journalist. She was married to, and in love with the one man she had known from the beginning was ‘the one.’
Though her dream was not a reality, she still longed for it to be real. She would never give up her beautiful daughter for any of it though, she cherished her daughter, and was glad that she didn’t have the abortion her mother had suggested when she first realized she was pregnant.
She woke from her dream world with a touch that was so familiar. Slowly, she opened her eyes. In the dim light of the living room, she saw him. He was brushing her dark hair out of her face.
She couldn’t believe it, the man she loved, the one who was never around anymore, he was standing right beside her, brushing the hair away from her face.
He simply smiled down at her, she didn’t believe he was really there. She just couldn’t believe that it was him, standing there.
She had missed him, needed him so much. The money he sent her to help care for their daughter was nothing compared to the love she missed so much from him.
Just to make sure he was really there, she whispered his name, “Joe?” she questioned.
He simply smiled brushing a sweet soft kiss on her forehead and picking up his daughter, for the first time.
“It will all be ok, I am here now, forever.” He smiled simply and she smiled back, falling back into her world of dreams, realizing that now, everything would be ok. Her love was back, and they could be a family together.
