I’ve Been Missing You, It’s True
She was almost positive that loving him was going to make her friendless. Not that her friends didn’t like her or him, but her over the top obsession was getting slightly out of hand. Now normally they wouldn’t mind that she was sighing and looking at his picture on her phone. But she had been sitting, sighing, looking at his picture for almost an hour.
“Brittany just call him,” Marni said frowning at her.
“He’s sleeping Marni. It’s like 2 AM in California right now. Besides I’m okay,” Brittany answers looking up from her phone to spot her best friends.
Marni was sitting with a cup of coffee in her lap and her cell phone in her hand texting, while Stephani, who hates early mornings, was sipping coffee as she listened to a voicemail she had received the this morning before she woke up, which was ten minutes ago.
“Call him he’s still awake,” Stephani says softly.
“How do you know that,” Brittany asks frowning?
“Cause he’s screaming in the background of my message from Kev, something about not understanding how you and me have never had Red Bull since it’s the best drink ever. I think he had a few too many,” Stephani giggles before dialing something into her phone and walking off.
Brittany grins wildly at the thought of her boyfriend being awake, it would mean she could talk to him, actually talk to him, not through Myspace, or texts she could hear his voice. Three rings later he picks up not at all groggy sounding, as she was, but rather hyper sounding.
“Hey Britt! You know I miss you right! So have you tried Red Bull yet! You haven’t why not! Oh dude Joe just took a header into the ground,” he laughs.
She joins in his laughter just happy to hear his voice.
“Hey did you have some Red Bull Nick,” Brittany smiles?
“Why yes I did beautiful. So I’ve been missing you,” Nick replies.
“I’ve been missing you too Nicky. So did you meet any cool fans in California,” Brittany asks?
“Well considering that we just got to California not yet. But we met a group of cool girls in Oregon, Melissa, Ashley and Dana. They actually bought us Starbucks, they wouldn’t let us pay for it, Kevin almost died when they handed it to him as soon as he walked in the door. I wish I was with you,” Nick sighs.
“I wish you were here too,” Brittany smiles at him.
She hears a crash and looks over to spot Stephani blushing picking up a pan as she chats happily into her phone. Marni is sitting drinking her coffee still as she continues to text someone, most likely Joe. That’s probably one of the best things about sharing an apartment with her best friends, they were dating boys from the same family, brothers to be exact. Joe, Nick and Kevin Jonas the Jonas Brothers. It was funny to Brittany how it started out, Stephani, the Starbucks queen was on her way to work when she ran into the handsome Paul Kevin Jonas the second, Marni was out for a run when she slammed into the gorgeous Joseph Adam Jonas and Brittany was just waiting in the doctors office when Nicholas Jerry Jonas walked in and sat next to her.
“I don’t understand why Stephani and Joe aren’t together they are such big klutz’s,” Brittany says rolling her eyes.
Suddenly she feels something soft hit her in the head and turns to look at Marni who is giving her a death glare.
“I was kidding Marni,” Brittany tells her rubbing her head.
“I wasn’t. Don’t make me think that you are trying to set my boyfriend up with Kevin’s girlfriend,” Marni glares.
“I have a name. Use it and there is no way that I would be with Joe. He’s way to much like me. I like Kevin he’s calm perfect with me if you ask me,” Stephani calls from the kitchen.
Brittany rolls her eyes and turns her attention back to the boy she longed to talk to.
“Nick how long ‘til you get home,” she asks hoping it’s sooner than later.
“Not for a while Britt I wish I could say soon but not for a while. You’ll miss me,” Nick asks with a chuckle?
“Of course I will. I love you doofus,” Brittany replies with a laugh of her own.
“Ow that hurt,” Nick replies.
“I’ll let you sleep,” Brittany says as she hears him yawning.
“Okay Love you. I’ll call you when I wake up,” Nick mummers.
“Okay love you too. Bye,” Brittany hangs up her phone and thinks of just how lonely she will be without him.
Three Weeks Later
Brittany looked out the window her short brown hair flying in front of her eyes at the violent motion. She rubs her eyes next trying to figure out if what she is seeing is real. If there really is a poofy headed boy, with two other boys, one with straight hair and the other with short curls, walking towards her apartment. She can’t control the squeal that is in her throat and the other two girls look at her like she’s crazy. All six were dressed casual the girls in jeans and t-shirts the boys in skinny jeans and t-shirts, but the girls weren’t expecting what happened next. There is a knock on the door and Brittany runs to answer it getting confused looks from both Stephani and Marni. When she sees him, in the back behind his brothers she flings her arms around his neck and smiles widely.
“I’ve been missing you,” she whispers.
“I’ve been missing you, it’s true,” he replies as he leans down and touches his lips to hers.
