Summary: When Chloe gets invited to her cousin Christine’s wedding, Chloe takes her best friend Nick with her. Before they know it feelings they thought they buried for each other resurfaces.

Chapter 1
“So how long till show time?”
Chloe asked Nick over the phone as she lies on her bed.
“An hour and half but I should really be doing vocal warm ups right about now.”
Nick said as he sits on a sofa in a dressing room.
“I don’t want to keep you so I’ll let you go.”
“No don’t I’ll start in thirty minutes, I miss my best buddy too much to cut this phone call short.”
They both laughed and stayed on the phone for a little while longer till a knock came at Chloe’s bedroom door.
“Hold on for a sec Nick.”
Chloe said then yelled,
‘Come in.”
The door opened and Chloe’s Mom walked in.
“You ready? We told your Grandparents we’d be there for dinner at six.”
Chloe nodded and her Mom left.
“Got to go Nick we’re getting ready to leave for my Grandparents for dinner. Everyone’s going to be there which means one thing.”
“Big announcement.”
Both Nick and Chloe said at the same time then laughed.
“Have fun.”
Nick said.
“You too and stay safe, bye.”
“Bye.”
They both hung up going and doing their own thing. Twenty minutes later Chloe, her parents and older Sister by a year pulled up to their Grandparents house. Getting out of the car and walking up the driveway to the porch Chloe’s Father opened the door and they walked in.
“Alan dear you guys are here.”
Alan’s Mother Regina said walking into the small foyer and bringing Alan into a hug.
“We aren’t late are me Mom?”
Alan asked.
“No dear right on time. Katherine you look great as always.”
Regina said hugging Chloe’s Mom Katherine.
“And there are my beautiful Granddaughters.”
Regina said hugging Daphne Chloe’s Sister then hugged Chloe.
“Every one is in the family room downstairs. Dinner will be shortly.”
Chloe, Daphne and their parents walked downstairs to the finished basement that was turned into a family room.
“There you are younger brother we’ve been waiting for you.”
Alan’s older Sister Olivia said.
“God I was hoping they wouldn’t be here.”
Daphne whispered to Chloe when they spotted their Aunt Olivia, their Uncle Trevor and their Daughter Chloe and Daphne’s Cousin Christine.
“Great she bought her Boyfriend.”
Chloe said when she spotted Christine’s Boyfriend Aaron.
“I thought this was just family?”
Daphne asked her Mother.
“You know Christine.”
Katherine said, they took their seats when Olivia said,
“Now we just have to wait for Nate.”
“You know Uncle Nate Mom he’s always the last one to show up. But then again we all know why, it takes Aunt Ellen forever to get ready but then again I would too if I looked like her.”
Both Chloe and Daphne rolled their eyes, they stayed down there for a while just talking and it only took ten minutes for Christine to start getting on Chloe’s nerves. A few minutes after Nate and Ellen arrived they went upstairs and into the dinning room to eat, before anyone could eat they said Grace then Jacob Regina’s Husband, Alan, Olivia and Nate’s Father. Chloe, Daphne, Christine and Wyatt’s (Nate and Ellen’s two-year-old son) Grandfather. Jacob stood up and said,
“We gathered you all here because well Christine and Aaron have something they would like to tell everyone. Christine.”
Christine stood up along with Aaron.
“As you know me and Aaron have been together for a year now and well.”
Christine went into her pocket then hid her left hand under the table then bought it back up.
“We’re getting married.”
Christine said showing off her Marquise Diamond Solitaire Engagement Ring. Chloe’s mouth dropped to the floor at the shock, Aaron and Christine kissed and everyone gave them their congratulations. They began to eat when Katherine asked,
“Have you guys set a date yet? And do you know where you want to have it?”
“Sometime in April and we want to have it at the St. James Resort in Antigua.”
“A beach wedding I thought you’d be too worried to get sand on your dress or in your shoes to have it on the beach.”
Chloe said then chuckled at the look on Christine’s face.
“Well Chloe.’
Chloe didn’t like the way Christine said her name.
“Sometimes one has to but their insecurities aside to do what they want.”
Christine snickered at Chloe and Chloe wanted to hit her so bad. After dinner they all went back to the family room, an hour after everyone went downstairs Chloe went to use the bathroom and when she came out Christine was waiting.
“Chloe I want to talk to you for a moment.”
Chloe in her minds eyes rolled her eyes and walked over to Christine.
“I just want to let you know that since well you don’t have a boyfriend.”
Chloe cut Christine off.
“What makes you think I don’t have a boyfriend?”
Christina chuckled which made Chloe want to hit her.
“I just do Chlo.”
Chloe hates it when other people besides Nick call her Chlo.
“It’s Chloe.”
“Anyway one would think coming to a wedding alone would be very lonely, I mean after all it is a day of love and well being there alone without the person you love most in the world besides your parents can be kind of lonely. So I just want to let you know that you can bring a friend if you want, I mean it could be a girlfriend or are you still friends with that Jonas boy?”
“Nick yes we’re still friends.”
“You could bring him or anyone of your friends. I wouldn’t want my Cousin to be lonely and bring down my big day.”
Inside Chloe was screaming at herself just to hit her.
“I don’t need to bring anyone Christine I’ll be just fine.”
“Just think about it and let me before the end of the month. I’m just looking out for you and to make sure that my day is the best day of my life. I wouldn’t want a hormonal teenager who can’t get or keep a boyfriend to ruin the happiest day of my life.”
“For one I’m not a hormonal teenager.”
“Your sixteen by the way how old is Nick?”
“Fifteen he’ll be sixteen this September.”
“And your be seventeen in December right?”
“Yes we are a year and three months apart and what’s with all the questions?”
Chloe said.
“Just wondering anyway just think about what I said and let me know.”
Christine went to walk away but Chloe stopped her.
“Aren’t you and Aaron taking this too fast? You two have only been together for a year and you’re both nineteen. And you want the wedding to happen in three months. Aren’t you moving too fast?”
“Aaron and I happen to love each other very much and want to spend the rest of our lives together. When you meet that special someone you’re know how it feels but don’t worry if you don’t plenty of people don’t marry or have significant others.”
With that Christine walked away and Chloe mumbled,
“That little.”
And went after Christine but Daphne stopped her.
“Let it go little sis just let it go.”
“God I am so sick of her comments.”
Chloe began to tell Daphne what Christine said.
“If I knew we wouldn’t get disowned by most of the family I would go beat the crap out of that girl.”
Daphne said making Chloe laugh.
“Me and you both, now please tell me you came up here to tell me we’re leaving?”
Daphne nodded and Chloe gave a sigh of relief, they went back downstairs and said goodbye to everyone then Chloe, Daphne and their parents left going back home. Later that night Chloe was sitting on her bed strumming on her Guitar when her cell phone rang, picking it up and seeing Nick’s name on the caller ID a smile spread across her face and she answered it.
“Thank god you called me back tonight, you won’t believe what happened at dinner.”
Chloe said making Nick laugh as he jumped up into his bunk.
“Sorry it took me so long figure I’ll shower and all first. So what happened?”
“Christine and Aaron are getting married in April.”
“Get out of here, now way.”
“Yes way and they want to have it at the St. James Resort in Antigua. And that’s not all my parents told me on the ride home that Aunt Olivia and Uncle Trevor are making a big too do about it, get this the week of the wedding everyone is to fly down there and their having like a mini family vacation type thing. Activities, dinners etc with everyone.”
“Leave it to your Aunt and Uncle to give her wedding the Royal treatment.”
Chloe then began to explain to Nick the things Christine said.
“Seriously someone needs to give that girl a attitude check. Do you know the exact date?”
Nick asked opening his laptop and opening his schedule.
“They already made the reservations for the wedding at the Resort the wedding is Saturday the Nineteenth but we have to be down there on the Fourteenth. My Mom said they are trying to stay an extra day or two just for us. I think it’s the first time that my parents are happy that Daphne is finished school and that I’m home schooled.”
Nick laughed and looked at his schedule.
“If you want I can go with you cause I’m free pretty much all of April but the tenth.”
Chloe smiled.
“Would you Nick? Cause I swear if I have to put with Christine’s stupid boyfriend comments for a week and not say anything I need you there to support me. Plus it give us a whole week together even if it’s with my Family.”
“Yeah I just need to check it over with my Parents but I’m sure it won’t be a problem.”
Nick already had a plan to make sure Chloe wouldn’t have to deal with Christine’s Boyfriend comments and hoped that Chloe wouldn’t get mad at him for not telling her till the first comment is thrown.
“Thank you so much Nick, I’ll let you go so you can get some sleep. Talk to you tomorrow, bye.”
“Bye.”
They both hung up the phone not knowing what was to come in Antigua for the both of them.
