Chapter 23 part 2:
Meanwhile, Joe was sitting on a comfy sofa in the middle of his house. He new Demi was right but he didn’t want to accept it. He also has done nothing since the confrontation. He hasn’t seen Dan, his brothers, or his parents. He has been alone, left with his thoughts and only his thoughts. He sat on his couch, eating a large bowl of ice-cream as he blankly stared at the TV, not paying attention to anything that was going on. A light knock came from the front door, but Joe was still oblivious to his surroundings as he continued to eat a bite of cookies and crème.
“Dude.” Was all Dan said as he walked into the room Joe was in, noticing the mess on the floor as well as the dirty dishes on the table.
Joe’s eyes immediately darted up as he viewed Dan’s disgusted face. “Hey.” Was all Joe could get out of him as he continued to stuff his face with the dessert.
“What’s your problem?” Dan asked as he found a clean spot on the couch to sit down.
“Nothing.”
“Joe come on.”
“No dude, seriously, nothing is wrong.” He whispered as he sat the ice cream dish down on the table next to him.
“Is this about Demi?” Dan asked as he turned his head so that they were both looking the ice cream bowl in front of them.
“I’m sorry. I just....” He darted his eyes now to the floor.
“You love her.” Dan blurted out.
“Ya.”
“Tell me honestly, how long have you been in love with my sister?” he asked as he grabbed a napkin from the kitchen and began to clean up the mess surrounding them.
“Honestly? Since I was 15. When you, her, and I went to the water park.”
Dan thought for a minute. “When she got sick? And you were the only one that offered to stay behind and take care of her.” Dan said as if realizing after all this time.
“Yea.” Joe whispered as he turned his head away from Dan.
Dan immediately got up from the couch and stood in front of him. “Dan, listen to me. Make sure you are at my concert tomorrow night.”
Joe turned his face toward Dan. “What?”
“Just be there.” Dan said as he walked towards Joe’s front door. “Just trust me.”
Sorry guys the dialouge is not that good, but there boys. Boys aren't very expressive. I think that was a pretty emotional convesation for ttennage boys. ;) anyway. yap. I HOpe you liked this chapter.
