Kayla laid in bed, staring at the dark ceiling, thinking about him. When would he come back? She could barely stand it anymore. She only had a week to be with him, and then off he went, touring again. It had been months since then, and Kayla had been waiting, longing for him all that time. She didn't want to have a relationship like this, but she just loved him too much to find a guy she could always be with.

It was almost morning, and Kayla hadn't gotten any sleep. She had spent the whole time thinking about and missing him. It was a good thing this was Saturday, or she would be doomed for school.

Since she wasn't going to get any sleep anyways, Kayla got up and sat down at her desk. This was normal time to wake up anyways. She looked in the mirror. Her brown-hazel eyes were tired and bloodshot. She rubbed them and pushed her thick hair out of her face. Since he wasn't coming any time soon, it might be nice to write a letter. 'Well...an e-mail, actually, since the tour bus doesn't have an address.' Kayla thought as she opened her laptop and went to Yahoo! mail. She logged in and started writing a letter to him, but she was only able to write half a sentence before her mom called for her. "Kayla! There's a friend at the door!"
"Coming!" Kayla yelled back, annoyed. She didn't want a friend seeing her like this. But when she turned the corner to the front door, she couldn't care less about what she looked like. She felt like crying. "Nick..." she whispered, and her hand subconsciously rised to cover her mouth. He looked at her with those wonderful eyes that made her melt.

"Kayla, what's wro-"
"Nick! I thought you'd never come back! Why did you have to do that to me?!?!" Kayla yelled, interrupting him. She was so happy to see him, yet so mad at him at the same time.
"Kayla, I'm sorry. It's just...we have to go on to-"
"I don't care about your stupid tour! I want you to stay! I'm tired of this!" she interrupted him again.
Nick looked at her sadly, and then put his head down. Then he walked towards her and embraced her. "I'm sorry, Kayla. I don't know what else to say. We have to go on tour. It's what we do for a living." he said quietly, guiltily. But that was all she needed. Just that warm, perfect hug and that heart-felt apology.
"Nick..." she whispered, now tears streaming down her cheeks. She hugged him back, as tight as she could. She had missed him so much.
"But it doesn't have to be like this anymore. Kayla, do you want to come with us on the tour bus?"
Kayla's heart just about stopped. "Come...with you? You'll never leave me?" she said hopefully, breaking the hug to look at him.
"Yes, Kayla. You can stay with me forever."
"Oh, Nick! Yes! Yes! I'll come!" she said, not even thinking about what her mom would say, and embraced him again.
More and more, I start to realize,
I can reach my tomorrow,
I can hold my head up high,

"I missed you as much as you did me. I want you to know that. I didn't like it either." Nick said, almost in tears himself. They just stood in front of the door and held each other silently, one side of Nick's jacket being stained by Kayla's tears.

When the embrace was finally broken, Kayla wiped her tears and silently walked to the kitchen, where her mom was. "Mom, I'm going on tour!" she said happily and excitedly. She skipped past to her room, and started packing her belongings.
"What?!?!" was the startled, confused reply.
"I don't care what you say! I'm going on tour!!!" Kayla yelled down the hall, not giving her mom another say on the matter. After putting all her stuff in various suitcases and bags, she trudged to the front door, where Nick was waiting, and said, "Bye, Mom!"
"Kayla, wait! You are NOT going on tour!" her mom yelled, following her daughter to the front door.
"Yes I AM!"
"No you AREN'T!"
"Mom, yes I AM!!! You don't realize what this means to me! I'll just be...I'll be...I don't know. I just need to go with Nick!" Kayla screamed.
Her mother stood there, silent, for a moment, and then sighed and said, "No you aren't."
"YES I AM!!!" Kayla really screamed this time. "THIS ISN'T JUST SOMETHING I WANT AGAIN!!! I NEED THIS!!! I'LL KILL MYSELF IF YOU DON'T LET ME GO!!!"
Her mother was silent. She knew that her daughter meant it. "I don't know why this means so much to you, but fine."
"Thank you so much, Mom!" Kayla said, putting down all her bags and suitcases to jump up and hug her mom.
"But remember to brush your teeth and change your underwear every day." Kayla's mom said quietly, being her humorous self, but now she was crying as well.
"Mom, I'm really sorry about this, but I have to go. And I'll miss you too."
After lots of hugs, kisses, tear-shedding, mom lectures, and the wiping-of-eyes, Kayla gave on last hug to her mom and departed. She held Nick's hand as she made herself walk out proud, and joined the Jonas Brothers on tour.
