I came out of the classroom beside him. He walked right past me. Shoving me into the door. "Oops sorry!" he said, retrieving his girlfriend, Kathrine McBee. Kathy, head cheerleader. I regained my step and walked out the door and met up with my only friend...Hayley McDermitt for lunch. "You're lusting for Joe right?" Hayley asked, as we sat at our table for lunch. I nodded. "I wish he'd dump Kathy and ask me to the dance on Friday!" I said. "In your dreams!" Hayley said. "yeah!" I said, dumping my bagged lunch out of it's bag.
Too bad, dreams are just pretend,
too bad, memories become tragedies,
too bad my heart is too broken to mend,
too bad, dreams never come true!
I could dream all I want but I knew that the star football player at my school wasn't gonna' like me...ever! Ever memory of him I had, like when he let me borrow a pencil became bad, "Joe can I borrow a pencil?" I asked in a whisper. "Jane are you cheating?" My teacher asked and I got detention. See every memory with him I had turned out to be bad. I had my heart broken by him too...I was about to ask him to the halloween dance and then Kathy got between us and took him. My dream was never gonna' come true with Kathy around!

"Hayle's I'm gonna' ride the bus home today!" I told Hayley after school today. "Okay, see ya tomorrow!" Hayley said, heading home. I boarded the stupid smelly yellow bus. It was packed. I found someone with a spot next to them. "Hey could I sit with you?" I asked, taking my backpack off my shoulder. The person moved it's backpack and I sat. I realized who I was sitting next to, Joe Jonas, high school quarterback. "Do I know you?" Joe asked. "uhm...I'm not sure!" I lied. "What's your name?" Joe asked. "uh...Janey Dawson." I said. "No, I don't know that name!" Joe said. Janey was my real name but everyone knew me as Jane. For the rest of the bus ride, we were silent!
My biggest dream came true!

The next day at school I went into the bathroom and found Kathy sitting in a stall, crying. "What happened Kathy?" I asked, politely even though I didn't care. "Joe dumped me." Kathy said. "Something about some cute girl he saw on his bus yesterday." Kathy added. "Really? Who?" I asked. "Some girl named Janey Dawson." Kathy said, sniffling. I was shocked...Janey Dawson was me!! I ran quickly out of the bathroom. Joe gripped onto my hand. "hey aren't you Janey?" Joe asked. I nodded. "I knew I'd see you!" Joe said. I smiled. "So I wanted to know if you'd like to go to the dance with me on Friday!" Joe said. "Cool. I'd like to!" I said.

Who said that dreams don't come true. "Hey Jane what was up with Joe talking to you?" Hayley asked, during lunch. "He asked me to the dance!" I said. "Wow. Looks like you guys are the couple of the week!" Hayley said. All those bad memories became good since we started dating...the dance was the best thing that ever happened!! My heart was broken but since he asked me to the dance it was mended! My dream came true!
