Hello everyone! For those of you who were readers of Broken, it is back to being updated. Chapter 14 should be up soon. This was just an idea I got awhile back, during the school year, but never really had much time to write. Since I'm finally on summer vacation, I can start writing again. =]
You Save Me
Chapter 1
Kerralyn glanced at the tiny clock that was on the bottom corner of the laptop that illuminated her dark room. It read 1:43, meaning she had barely five hours before she had to wake up and drag herself through yet another day of school. Sighing she pulled her computer onto her lap and clicked into yet another music chat room that had a few people still left in it – probably those on the west coast. She aimlessly began chatting with the three people that were left in the AOL Music chat, not paying much attention to what they were saying and instead spending most of her energy on decoding her own tiny and smudged scrawl from a notebook. Hardly noticing as members began to sign off, she slowly managed to make out the letters, typing each word carefully into a document. Her eyelids began to slide shut before a soft ding jolted her back into wakefulness. She glanced at the chat window, seeing that everyone had signed out but someone new had signed in.
DJ-Danger815: Hello? Helloooooooo? is anyone here?
xxAngelicMusicalNotexx: Uh…yeah I’m here. Sort of.
DJ-Danger815: Sort of?
xxAngelicMusicalNotexx: Yes. Sort of.
DJ-Danger815: Um, ok then.
DJ-Danger815: …
DJ-Danger815: I’m…Danger
xxAngelicMusicalNotexx: Please tell me that your parents did not really name you Danger.
DJ-Danger815: Yup.
xxAngelicMusicalNotexx: Sure they did.
xxAngelicMusicalNotexx: Since I can tell that we’re using nicknames here, I’m Musical Note.
DJ-Danger815: Hi Musical Note!
DJ-Danger815: …
xxAngelicMusicalNotexx: Um, hi…Danger?
xxAngelicMusicalNotexx: So…
DJ-Danger815: So…? I’m guessing that you like music
xxAngelicMusicalNotexx: Nah, I’m just in the AOL Music chat because I like…swimming.
DJ-Danger815: So you like swimming but not music?
She sighed at her computer, wondering why on earth she was still in the chat with a guy who called himself Danger and obviously didn’t understand the meaning of sarcasm.
xxAngelicMusicalNotexx: No, Sherlock, I like music. And swimming. But that’s beside the point right now because…oh never mind.
DJ-Danger815: My brother’s name is Sherlock!
DJ-Danger815: So let’s get this straight, Musical Note…
DJ-Danger815: You like music and swimming and THAT’S why you’re in this chat.
Kerralyn had to strongly resist the urge to slap herself upside the head as she typed, each word slowly and deliberately.
xxAngelicMusicalNotexx: First off Danger, I don’t care right now if your brother’s name is Sherlock or not.
xxAngelicMusicalNotexx: and second of all. I am in this chat because I like MUSIC. The swimming has nothing to do with any of it.
DJ-Danger815: But you still like swimming right?
xxAngelicMusicalNotexx: YES ALREADY.
DJ-Danger815: Geesh. No need to get all huffy about it.
DJ-Danger815: …
xxAngelicMusicalNotexx: I’m TRYING to write over here.
xxAngelicMusicalNotexx: And don’t even ask what.
DJ-Danger815: Whatcha writing?
DJ-Danger815: :P
xxAngelicMusicalNotexx: Did I not say don’t ask?
DJ-Danger815: Maybe…
xxAngelicMusicalNotexx: If I tell you what I’m writing will you not ask again?
DJ-Danger815: Yes.
Eager for some way to keep whoever was on the other side of the chat from driving her crazy, Kerralyn quickly typed out a reply.
xxAngelicMusicalNotexx: Fine. I’m writing a poem. Or maybe lyrics. I haven’t quite figured it out just yet.
xxAngelicMusicalNotexx: Does that answer satisfy you?
DJ-Danger815: Can I ask one more question?
xxAngelicMusicalNotexx: As long as you aren’t going to be so annoying about it.

I froze and stared at my computer, my fingers hovering over the keyboard on what my head wanted me to say. My fingers shifted as I typed out a single word.
