Hey everyone! This story was inspired by my many friends who have graduated or will graduate. Everyone seems to have a plan for their senior year, and some people have so much expectations that it can't possibly be as perfect as they want it. But, always, your senior year will be a year you can never forget. And I hope that's what this story teaches you.
This is my first fanfic by myself and I hope you enjoy it. This is dedicated to my {G}onas girls: Sierra (Master Magooku), Madeline (G-Mads), Nat (G-Natiepoo), Manda (Mandawg Switz), Missa (G-Fresh), and Rachel (G-Fly). Chapter 1:

Walking through the too-familiar hallways, breathing in the smell of new books and freshly sharpened pencils, I was suddenly overwhelmed with a sense of excitement. This was the moment I had been waiting for since I was just a shy freshman. I had spent 3 years planning every moment, every class, every occasion that was to come. It was my senior year.
“Hey babe,” I heard a soft comforting voice say as the owner of the voice walked up beside me and grabbed my hand. The butterflies in my stomach went wild at his touch and I interrupted my thoughts to turn and gaze into his big blue eyes and absolutely gorgeous smile.
“Hey Tyler,” I said back, realizing at that moment how much I had missed him and squeezing his hand tighter. Ty had been my boyfriend since he asked me to homecoming last year, which meant we were nearing our one year anniversary. We had already planned what we were going to do down to the last detail, as well as our homecoming and prom, and the graduation party we were going to hold together. He was a major part of the perfection of my senior year. We were going to spend every moment together, and I was glad because he had been gone at football camp all summer and I had barely gotten to see him.
Tyler’s smile got bigger as I turned to face him and he pulled me by the hand over to the side of the hallway. “You ready for the best senior year possible?” he asked, holding both of my hands in his. I nodded and he pulled me into a soft kiss.
“You two know you can get busted for PDA, right?” I heard a voice say behind me. I pulled away from Tyler and whipped around to see Sierra smirking back at me. I squealed and ran to hug her. Sierra had been my best friend since I had moved to New Mexico freshman year. She was another major part of my perfect senior year. We had spent so many nights on the phone discussing which shirts we were going to wear for which big football game or what dresses we were going to buy for which big dance She was my partner-in-crime, and I had felt completely lost without her all summer as she was in Los Angeles the whole time with our school’s drill team. As much as I had missed Tyler, I had missed Sierra even more. “Nice to see you too,” she said sarcastically, squeezing me tighter.
I pulled away and stepped back to take Tyler’s hand again. “Have either of you gotten your schedules yet?” I asked excitedly.
“Ya, it’s all the classes I wanted, thank goodness!” Sierra said, looking at the piece of paper in her hand. “Did you make it into the yearbook class you’ve been working so hard for?”
“I don’t know yet, I hope so,” I said, a little worried. I had written at least twenty essays at the end of last year so that they would choose me to be on the senior yearbook staff. It was all I ever wanted. “I was just about to go pick up my sched when this doofus came along,” I said, ignoring the worry lingering in my mind and punching Ty in his toned arm.
Tyler nudged me back. “Well, pardon me, Miss Alyssa!” he laughed, “I thought you would have missed me while I was working my mad football skills all summer!”
“What mad football skills?” Sierra and I said at the same time, bursting into a fit of giggles. Tyler wasn’t really that great of a football player. He hadn’t made varsity until this year, and even now he was still only a second string safety. But nevertheless, even before we started dating, I had always tried to be there for Tyler. Football was something he loved and I enjoyed watching him play something he loved almost more than me. I was there at every game, and the loudest in the crowd. I had even taken a liking to football throughout high school, and it was a favorite pastime for me and Tyler to snuggle up and watch a game together on Sunday nights.
Tyler nudged me again and flashed me an exaggerated pouty face. I leaned up and pecked him on the cheek and he smiled. “Hey, I’ve gotten much better over the summer,” he said, flexing his free arm. “In fact,” he said, then paused for dramatic effect, “they just changed me to first string yesterday!”
I shrieked and threw my arms around his neck. He held me tight, running his fingers through my blonde hair, apparently just as excited for him as I was.
“Hey, that’s great,” Sierra said, patting his strong shoulder. “Maybe now you and the starting QB can become better friends so that you can introduce us.” I pulled away from Tyler and laughed softly to myself. She had always been a little boy crazy, and, since she was single at the moment, she was looking for any chance to find herself some adorable arm candy, especially with homecoming just around the corner.
“I don’t know, Sierra,” Tyler said smirking at her, “that just may scare him out of becoming better friends with me.” I laughed and Sierra stuck her tongue out at us.
“Fine,” she said stubbornly, “doesn’t matter anyway. I met this cute musician when I was in LA who is so much hotter than any quarterback!”
I raised my eyebrow at her and was opening my mouth about to inquire as to what musician could possibly be better than our school’s quarterback when I was interrupted by a high, chipper voice.
“Hey Alyssa!” Madeline said, walking up to stand next to Sierra, who reached over and gave the short freshman a hug.
“Hey Mads,” I said, smiling at her shy smile. Mads and I went to the same church and our families had known each other since before I moved here. Sierra and I had always been kind of her mentors. And I had spent a lot of time with her over the summer, going to movies and skating, talking about all that high school was about and all the myths and rumors that she had heard. I had enjoyed having her to mentor, especially while Sierra and Tyler were away, even though at times she could be a little too hyper and it got annoying.
“Do you know where the counseling office is?” she asked, blushing a little and looking down at her toes. “I need to get my schedule.”
“Of course,” I said encouragingly, “I was just about to go there myself, you can just follow me!” I turned around to kiss Tyler quickly and then linked my arm with Madeline’s, and started to lead her to counseling office.
“Are you ready for high school?” I asked Mads, trying to make small talk and go all “super-mentor” on her.
“Ya, I guess” she said nervously. Then perking up, apparently trying to get her mind off the fact that she was now in an unfamiliar and uncomfortable big place, she said enthusiastically, “Are you ready for your senior year?”
“I’m ready for my perfect senior year!” I responded, smiling to myself, my thoughts drifting back to all of my plans.
This is going to be amazing.
