I sat down by the front door with a blank stare on my face. I let my body drop as I placed my hand over my chest, “Pregnant?”
“Yes Joe.” Kassidy knelt next to me, “I wanted to tell you earlier but you just left.”
I felt guilty and another feeling rushed over me. I was scared…Mikayla knew. She told me to go back but I was just so stubborn. The ends of the knife poked my chest softly.
I shook my head in disbelief, “She knew…”
“Who knew?” Kassidy demanded taking my hand into hers.
“Mikayla knew. She told me to come back.” I felt her drop my hand and sigh loudly
“Joe you cant do this to yourself…She’s dead and you have to understand that, maybe you thought you heard her because you really wanted to.” Kassidy stood up beside me and tried to pull me up, “It’s dark, and you should get inside.”
“I’m fine.” I whispered
“Fine.” She answered me and closed the door. I reached my hand into my back pocket and pulled out my cell phone. I dialed numbers as quick as I could and placed it to my ear. The ringing was driving me mad.
“Answer.” I muttered angrily
“Hello?” a silky voice answered
“Dani?”
“Yes, this is she.” Her tone was confused; she hadn’t forgotten me yet had she.
“It’s Joe.”
I heard her stammer and sigh softly, “Hello Joseph, Do you need something.” Her voice had venom all over it.
“Mikayla is alive.”
She laughed in disbelief and cleared her throat, “I would love to believe that but I was standing next to you when they put her casket underground.”
“No Dani I’m serious!”
“Joseph, don’t make this more painful than it already is.”
“Danielle listen to me. I went to Ryan’s place. You know Mikayla’s apartment and her voice rang in my head. She told me to go back to Kassidy and when I came back kass told me she was pregnant.”
“Well congratulations.” She cut in my explanations.
“I’m not done! Danielle I heard her! I didn’t even want to but I did. You think I wanted to hear my sister’s voice while I was on my way to murder Ryan!”
Dani gasped and stayed quiet for a second, “M-murder.” She stuttered
“No…” I shouldn’t have said answered or continued.
“You said murder Joseph! Why would you do that?”
“He killed my sister!” I yelled into my phone.
“No Joseph…” she paused, “You did.”
