Guess what I've got? Yes, that's right - another chapter for you! I'm gonna post another tomorrow, cause I'm really inspired, but it's like 2:15am overhere and I've got work at 9, so I'm gonna post this and go to bed. Enjoy :D
As she sat down at the table again, three pairs of eyes landed on Maria. She looked at her best friends. "What?" she said after a minute of silence. "What was all that about?" Steph asked. "He just asked me if I wanna hang out tonight, I said yes," Maria replied, looking at the rest of her food. "And you seriously think that’s a good idea?" Steph said. "What do you mean?" Maria replied, taken back by her friend’s tone. "Maria, he’s a musician! You know what they’re like! And you’re going on a date with him?" Steph said, emphasising the word ‘date’. "Oh, come on, it’s not a date, we’re just gonna hang out! That’s all!" Maria defended herself. Steph looked thoroughly at Maria, then got up and stormed away, Catherine following her. Maria looked after her, "What’s eating her?" she said. Aaron put a reassuring hand on her friend’s shoulder. "You know what’s up with her. She still hasn’t put it behind her yet. Just giver her time, Maz," she said. Maria nodded. "Thanks," she smiled. Aaron smiled back. "So," she giggled, "you sure it’s not a date?" Maria laughed, "Honey, if it was, you’d know, trust me!" The bell rang, and the girls ran off to their lockers to get their books, even though they knew they were gonna be late anyway. The rest of the afternoon, Maria wasn’t able to focus completely about her studies, Steph’s words about it being a date kept playing in her head, until she decided to shrug it off and concentrate on her work. It sure wasn’t a date. She didn’t want it to be a date. Did she?
Joe’s mind was everywhere else but at the test his teacher had just handed out. Right now, the history test on crusades and knights might as well not exist. He gazed out of the big window right next to him, the sun was shining brightly outside, and the temperature read 27ºC. Maybe he should take Maria to the park tomorrow? It was beautiful on a day like this, and if it would be the same tomorrow, then maybe… His teacher snapping his fingers before his eyes abruptly disturbed his thoughts. "Mr. Jonas," his teacher bellowed, "sitting around here with an empty sheet of paper and a goofy grin on your face is not gonna get you an A! Get your butt in gear." Joe felt his cheeks burn, while he said, "Yes, sir." God, how he wanted to get out of here, and fast! Cause if he got out of here, it would mean shorter time before he could pick up Maria, he thought, and the goofy smile returned on his face.
As the bell rang after the last class, Maria went to her locker. She put her books in, took out the ones she needed for homework and her sportsbag containing her tights and ballet-shoes. She didn’t practise in points-shoes, she’d seen how much that could damage the feet. Instead, she had these pink leather ballet-shoes to practise in. They were visibly old and worn; the soles had holes in them and one of the elastic bands was broken, but she refused to throw them out (A/N: I have a pair just liked described. I refuse to throw mine out, too xD). Maria changed into her tights and shoes and went into the gym, in which Joe had surprised her a week earlier. She put the Beethoven CD in the player and started to warm up. She had made the CD so that there were a couple of tracks for warm-up before the one she was going to use for her spring show performance. After warming up, she did some small routines to the track she was planning on using. Still, something didn’t feel right. She wasn’t really feeling the music. She sighed to herself and turned off the music, knowing with herself that she wasn't up for it today and wouldn't get anything productive out of today’s training. She went to the dressing room, changed and went to her car. She looked at her watch. 5pm. Dinner would be ready soon, and she was in serious need of a shower!
After dinner, Joe retired to his room. He laid down on his bed, put the earbuds in his ears and turned on his iPod. As the music started to flow, Joe let his mind wander. Tomorrow was the day. He was going to hang out with Maria. The goofy smile returned onto his face as he thought about her, and decided to text her. He grabbed his phone and wrote; Hey, just checking if I got the right number. Are you still in for tomorrow? Joe x He sent it and waited. He shortly took a glance at the clock on his wall; it read 8:30PM. She couldn’t be asleep. What if she was ignoring him? Just then, his phone flashed, signalling a new incoming message. It was from her! It read; Don’t worry Joe, you got the number right :) and yes, I’m deffo still in for tomorrow. You’re not backing out, are ya? :) Maria x Joe felt his guts doing flips as he read the message over again. He wrote a quick reply; Of course not, just checking :) I’m looking forward to see you, I’m not gonna deny that. Joe x Her reply came almost instantly. It read; Me too, I can hardly wait ^^ Well, I gotta go, Mum’s calling. See you tomorrow! Maria x Joe swore he could feel his heart doing somersaults. Why couldn’t it be tomorrow already?!
And in a different part of town, Steph sat on her bed with tears down her face, thinking to herself. Why did it have to be this way?
Alrightio, this is it for tonight :) I know Steph seems a little mean in this one, but don't worry, the reason for that will soon be discovered... He he he.
Anyways, goodnight girls, I'm gonna go catch up on that bit of sleep I've got left, which is less than , like, 5 hours.. Garh!
