Prolouge
Stefani was sitting on the airplane, next to her older brother Danny, they were both on their way to the one and only state of California. They were going for a family reunion. Unfortunately, their parents couldn't make it because they were too busy with work. You're probably thinking, what kind of parents don't go to their family reunion, but still send their kids? But that didn't surprise Stefani or Danny at all.
Their parents were always too busy with anything that didn't include them. It hurt them to know they were their own family, no parents. But they always managed to get by. Danny kept himslef busy with his skateboarding, that's his passion and his life. He's 17 years old, 5'11", black hair that was fairly short but still hovered over one eye, like side swept bangs, and dark brown eyes. Stefani's escape was music. Any music could lift her spririts, but one band in particular always helped her get through the hard times. The Jonas Brothers. They were her role models and her inspiration to keep going. She's 16 years old, 5'5", dark brown, should-length, wavy hair, and dark brown, almost almond-shaped eyes.
Stefani and Danny listen to their ipods as they await the arrival to California from New York. Even though they were going to be surrounded by people they love, they couldn't help but feel something else was missing. Danny didn't feel it as much, but Stefani did. And she knew exactly what it was.
