So... are you ready? I haven't decided if I'll do the chapters separate for each brother or like this one. Enjoy!
Chapter One
It was a new year. The parties had ended, the glasses of champagne were empty. And in one L.A. club, the party had ended only minutes ago. People rushed outdoors to watch fireworks and slowly exit. Except for one Joe Jonas who was waiting for his best friend to wake up and answer her phone. He grew tired of the ringing tone and tapped his foot impatiently.
He muttered to himself.
"Come on Laur, pick up already!"
Eventually he heard her voice groggy and strained. He smiled realizing he'd woke her up. He could picture her stumbling out of her queen sized bed in her green bedroom to find her phone. He bet that her red hair was dishevelled and messy, like it always was when she slept.
It had been a long time since Joe and Laura had seen each other face-to-face. She was finishing up school back in New Jersey and Joe was travelling the world with his brothers. But Joe didn't let anything get between them, like the three hour difference tonight. Not even the Atlantic Ocean could separate them.
Laura woke up to Joe's lovely voice singing to her. She smiled to herself before looking at her clock. The red numbers read 3:05 AM. Her smile quickly turned to a frown as she went to find her phone. That boy couldn't let her sleep, or maybe he'd forgotten the three hour difference. She found her phone on her desk and answered. She didn't even bother to look at the name, she already knew.
"Hello there, Joseph." she answered laughing quietly.
"Laura, I figured I should let you know something." Joe said with that joking tone in his voice.
"Oh really? I'm worried Joseph." she replied with fake concern.
"Well, see it happens to be a new year, actually it's been a new year for 5 whole minutes now..."
"Oh boy" Laura interrupted.
"So, I figured I should wish you a Happy New Year." Joe said laughing.
Laura smiled in the darkness of her room.
"Happy New Year Joe" she said softly.
"Talk to you later?" he asked her hopefully.
Laying on her bed, Laura looked at the framed picture of her and Joe from eighth grade.
"Of course."

Marissa Smith hated people. Which is why, Marissa was seated alone at her parents' New Year's Eve party. She didn't feel sociable, especially not with her parents friends from the country club. She couldn't wait until she was on her plane tomorrow morning and could leave Wyckoff behind. She wanted to see L.A. badly, feel the warm California air. But instead she was stuck watching Mr. Forbes dance with his wife, the two of which were way past intoxicated by now.
Marissa wasn't happy here anymore, there was nothing left to keep her here. She had no one to talk to, no one who cared. She did, but he had left years ago.
She was a lonely sixteen year old after he left her. She cursed herself for letting Kevin upset her after all these years. But she did. The image of his car driving away played like a film on loop in her mind. He didn't even say goodbye, she stumbled upon him packing the night before. She still remembered what he told her.
"I'll come back for you soon, I promise."
But each year passed without any word from Kevin. He didn't call, at first Marissa figured he was too busy to call. But after two years she realized the truth.
He'd forgotten about her.
So Marissa did the only thing she could. She forgot about him.
But this was easier said than done. Every now and then he managed to find a way back into her thoughts.
The hurt she felt appeared in her physical being. The blonde hair she once had was dark, and she wore a frown more often than a smile. Each smile reminded her of Kevin.
"I love your smile."
She sighed as she ran her hand along the inside of her glass. She eventually gave up attempting to be social and went to her room. She kicked off her heels and checked her suitcase again. She climbed into her bed as one single tear slipped from her eye. She wiped it away quickly, before they started to fall faster.
She shut her eyes and thought about California, the beaches and the sun.
Everything was in place. She was ready to leave for L.A.
Too bad she didn't realize that a certain Kevin Jonas would in town when she arrived.

Leah Hill loved New Year's. She loved the idea of a fresh start, a blank slate for an entire year. She sat crossed legged on her couch eating Chinese food as she watched the ball drop in New York. She couldn't believe she'd made it through another year. When Demi left, she wasn't sure if she'd make it.
Leah was happy for her best friend, as she was for her other best friend Selena. She couldn't harbour any feelings of jealousy because she was too proud of them. She watched her two best friends on t.v. and couldn't be happier. They were beautiful and talented, she was so honoured to call them her best friends.
She heard her phone beep and noticed she had two texts.
Happy New Year Leah!
xox Dem
Leah, Happy New Year! See you tomorrow love!
<3 Sel
She smiled and replied to her friends. She was excited for this year, she would be going on tour with Demi, which took weeks of convincing from both girls to Leah's parents. She couldn't imagine what crazy situations they'd find themselves in. It had been such a long time since Leah actually got to speak to her best friends in person.
Later in the year, she'd spend a month with Selena, and stay at her house, something she had missed doing. Leah didn't mind being average and not famous. She liked it better that way. Demi always thanked her for keeping her grounded and being there for her during the rough patches.
Last year, Leah missed her friends every day. She was withdrawn from her family, but a visit from Demi fixed that.
Last year, Leah let herself become so obsessed with what people were saying that she let her grades slip.
Last year, Leah swore that she'd never fall in love.
This year was going to be different.
