ok, before you read- yes, i used Taylor and Joe. I just couldn't help it. But they are being portrayed as characters. So please don't tell me how much you hate them together, cause it doesn't matter. I think they are dating- and they are adorable. I couldn't be happier for them both.
and it starts as a flash back, and the very last section is back in the present time. you should get it...
its based off of Taylor's new song called "Love Story" basically based on Romeo and Juliet. We're reading that in school, so the song really appealed to me. I just love it. listen to it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eaAPG7rKpew
Love Story
(based on the song by Taylor Swift)
We were both young when I first saw you
I close my eyes
And the flashback starts
I'm standing there
On a balcony of summer air
Taylor stood on her balcony, watching the waves roll in along the coastline. Her hand was pressed against her chest, tightly grasping a silver heart necklace. She smiled as her fingers gently ran against the chilly jewelry, causing a shiver to shake her body, but not only because of the windy air. She stared up at the sky, taking the beauty in, only dreaming of that first moment.
See the lights
See the party the ball gowns
See you make your way through the crowd
You say hello
Little did I know
“Who’s that?” Joe asked as he pointed to the blonde haired beauty across the dance floor.
“You don’t know who she is?” Kevin asked.
“Should I?”
“Yeah. Taylor Swift, upcoming teen country super star.”
“Huh,” Joe murmured. “I’m going to go say hello.” He slowly made his way through the crowd, never taking his eyes off of her. As he reached the middle of the floor, her bright eyes looked his way. She offered a smile, not taking her gaze from his.
“Hi,” Joe said as he put out his hand. “I’m Joe.”
“Taylor,” she responded.
“Taylor, this way!”
The girl turned her head quickly, then snapped back to Joe. “I’m sorry, I have to go. I’ll see you soon, I hope?”
Joe, still amazed by her beauty, finally found the words to say. “Yeah, of course. Would you like to have dinner sometime?”
“I’d love to,” Taylor smiled. “Call me,” she added, scribbling her number on a napkin.
Joe stared at the piece of paper while Taylor walked through the crowd, finally disappearing from his view.
That you were Romeo you were throwing pebbles
And my daddy said stay away from Juliet
And I was crying on the staircase
Begging you please don't go, and I said
“Who is that exactly?” Taylor asked her father as he led her upstairs.
“Who?”
“The dark haired boy, Joe. The one I talked to for a moment.”
“Oh, Joe Jonas. He’s a rock star- you can’t trust them.”
“He asked me to dinner,” Taylor said.
Her father quickly turned back around to face his daughter. “You won’t go, you hear me?”
“Why?” Taylor asked.
“He’s not your type. Plus you’re too young. And I don’t approve.”
“Daddy, please, why not? Give him a chance. He seemed like a really nice boy.”
“No,” he strictly responded.
“Why?” Taylor nearly yelled. “Why can’t I choose for myself?”
“You’re young. You have such an amazing career. The last thing you need is to get involved with a boy like him.”
Taylor shook her head. “You don’t even know what he’s like.”
“I don’t care. You’re not going to see him.”
She turned and ran up the steps to her bedroom, locking the door behind her. She kept her phone close to her side, waiting for a call that she hoped would change her life.
Romeo take me somewhere we can be alone
I’ll be waiting all there’s left to do is run
You'll be the prince and I’ll be the princess
Its a love story baby just say yes
Taylor nearly jumped at the sound of her ringtone, and quickly pulled her phone up to her ear, pressing send.
“Hi, is this Taylor?” Joe asked.
“Yeah,” she responded, a smile filling her face.
“Hello, this is Joe. Oh wow, I rhymed,” Joe laughed. Taylor tried to hide back her laughter, but a sound came out. The two laughed over nothing for a while, not even remembering what caused the first giggle.
“So, I was wondering if maybe you wanted to meet me for dinner tomorrow,” Joe finally said.
Taylor nearly choked on the words of truth she was about to say, but quickly changed her mind. “I’d love to.”
“Ok, I know of a great spot. There’s a beautiful garden, and I’ll get some food.”
“I can’t wait,” Taylor said. After their goodbyes, Taylor quickly put together an outfit for the next night.
I sneak out to the garden to see you
We keep quiet cause we're dead if they knew
So close your eyes
Escape this town for a little while
“My dad doesn’t think I’m here again,” Taylor said. She rested her head on Joe’s chest, his arms tightening around her body. The two watched the stars above them, only happy that they were near each other.
“Why not?”
“He doesn’t like you,” Taylor responded. She could nearly feel his smile as he leaned closer to her ear.
“The whole world could be at war, and I wouldn’t care as long as I was with you. I’ve never found someone like you before,” Joe said softly. “These past few weeks have been the most amazing of my life.”
“Will he ever find out?” Taylor asked, worry within her. She had never lied about anything.
“If he does, I’ll still love you.”
Taylor smiled as she snuggled closer to him, taking in the scent of his cologne.
Cause you were Romeo I was a scarlet letter
And my daddy said stay away from Juliet
But you were everything to me
And I was begging you please don't go and I said
“I’m going on tour again.”
“On tour. Like across the country?” Taylor asked into her phone.
“Yeah, and maybe the world.”
“I- I’m so happy for you,” she said, faking enthusiasm.
“You’re going to be on my mind every second of the day,” Joe said. “I’ll never leave you.”
“Please don’t,” Taylor whimpered, trying to keep her tears to a minimum. Joe softly sang, and she drifted off to sleep, not even taking her phone away from her ear.
Romeo take me somewhere we can be alone
I’ll be waiting all there’s left to do is run
You'll be the prince and I’ll be the princess
Its a love story baby just say yes
“Hey Joe,” Taylor said as she sneaked out of her house. She greeted Joe with a kiss.
“Baby,” Joe whispered as he pulled her close. “I’m going to miss you.”
“I’m going to miss you too,” she said. The two stood together, as close as possible.
“But right now, let’s make the most of what we’ve got,” Joe said, taking her hand and leading her down the street to where his car was parked. He carefully helped her in, then took off into the city, enjoying one final night as to what seemed like the end of their lives.
Romeo save me, they're trying to tell me how to feel
This love is difficult, but its real
Don't be afraid we'll make it out of this mess
Its a love story baby just say yes,
“I miss you,” Taylor said into her phone.
“I miss you too,” Joe responded on the other end. “Baby, I’m sorry, I have to go. I’ve got an interview.”
“Yeah, of course. Have fun.”
Without another word, Joe ended the call, leaving Taylor wondering if he really did love her, or if she was just a short chapter in the long story of his life. With each call came more doubt, as more often he didn’t remind her how much she meant to him.
Taylor still remained quiet on the status of her relationship, creating false rumors for her gloomy mood. Each night her father told her of another boy, but none of them appealed to her as Joe did.
I got tired of waiting
Wondering if you were ever coming around
My faith in you was fading
When I met you on the outskirts of town, and I said
Taylor got up and looked at her calendar, which was circled numerous times. “Today,” she smiled. Today was the day he was going to come home to her.
She awaited his call, excited to when she could see Joe again. She made sure she looked her best, always aware of her.
Hours of the day passed by, with still no call from Joe. As the day ended, she was sure he had forgotten about her, and those calls meant nothing to him. The night soon darkened the sky and she prepared to go to bed, disappointed in what the day had brought.
She lied in bed when her ring tone began to fill the room. Her heart skipped a beat when she read the caller id.
“Joe?” she said into the phone. “Why haven’t you called?”
“I’m outside, come here.”
Romeo save me I’ve been feeling so alone
I keep waiting for you but you never come
Is this in my head, I don't know what to think
You knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring and said
“Where have you been?” Taylor asked as she met Joe outside. “I’ve been waiting all day.”
“I know, I’m sorry.”
“Do you really love me?” she asked, biting her lower lip.
“Of course,” he said, pulling her close and kissing her.
“How do I really know?”
“Does this help?” Joe asked as he lowered himself down to one knee, reaching into his pocket.
Taylor’s hand flew to her mouth.
Marry me Juliet you'll never have to be alone
I love you and that’s all I really know
I talked to your dad you'll pick out a white dress
Its a love story baby just say yes
“It’s alright with your dad if it’s alright with you. Taylor Swift, will you marry me?”
“Yes, Joe, yes!” she said as she jumped into his arms. He carefully slid the ring onto her hand. “It’s beautiful.”
“Just like you,” Joe said as he kissed her. “I love you.”
“I love you, too.”
“Hey.” Taylor didn’t have time to turn around before her body was pulled tightly against his. “How you doing?”
“Good,” she said, smiling as she looked onto the beach.
“It’s a pretty view.”
“Sure is,” Taylor agreed. She turned around to look at Joe, her eyes meeting his. “I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
“Me neither,” Joe said.
“I’ve been thinking- how did you ever change his mind?”
“You dad’s?”
Taylor nodded.
“I think some things you should never know,” he said quietly, pulling her in closely and placing his lips on hers.
We were both young when I first saw you
