Chapter 2-
The weekend soon rolled by and the two girls were headed down 5th Avenue looking for dresses. They walked into Saks Fifth and headed straight to the dress department. Kellie and Becca were looking through racks of beautiful dresses with Kellie’s phone rang.
“Hello?”
“Kellie! It’s Kevin! How have you been?” Kellie was shocked. She hadn’t heard from any of the three boys in too long.
“Kevin! Oh my gosh hey! I’m great how are you? You must be pretty excited!”
“I’m amazing, and yeah I’m really excited. I got your message, we are all so happy you can make it.”
“Us too, we all have to catch up before the wedding.” Kellie suggested.
“Of course! Hey, what do you say you come out to L.A. a few days early and the six of us can hang out, like old time?”
“That would be absolutely amazing!”
“Great, well I have to go, but I’ll talk to you soon. Bye Kellie!”
“Bye Kevin.” Kellie said ending the call.
“Kevin,” Kellie said to Becca who was giving her a look asking who she was talking to.
“Oh,” Becca said returning to her dress hunt.
Almost 3 hours later each girl found a dress to wear. Becca dress was a subtle gold color; it had spaghetti straps and a v-neck, the dress came just above her knees, the back was open in a V-shape about half way down her back. She paired it with black strappy heels. Kellie’s dress, on the other hand, was a pretty red color and was also a halter; there was a crossover in the front where the neckline ended. This dress tied in the back and Kellie also matched it with a pair of black strappy heels. They paid for their dresses and shoes and headed back to Kellie’s apartment.
“I’m so excited for the wedding!” Becca said placing her dress down on Kellie’s bed.
“Me too. I can’t wait to see the guys again. Oh, Kevin asked if we wanted to go out a few days early so we can all catch up.”
“OF COURSE! That sounds amazing.”
“Okay cool,” The two of them collapsed on the couch in the living room in silence.
“I still think it’s so sad you and Joe lost contact, I mean, you loved each other so much! You two were perfect for one another.” Becca said breaking the silence. Kellie smiled, remembering all the amazing (and not so amazing) times they had together. She kind of missed hearing his voice.
“Kell, you okay?” Becca asked turning to her friend.
“Yeah I’m fine, why?”
“I don’t know, you seem…upset.”
“Nope, I’m fine. Haha,” The two of them sat in another silence. After a few minutes Becca said that she should be getting back to her apartment, she grabbed her dress and her shoes and left. Kellie was still seated on the couch thinking about her past, and what would happen in the future, like at the wedding. A few minutes later her phone rang, she didn’t recognize the number.
“Hello?”
“Hey Kellie,” Said a familiar, yet unfamiliar voice.
“J…Joe?” She asked hesitantly.
“Yeah, it’s Joe.”
“Oh my-hi!” Kellie felt her heart start to speed up.
“Haha, hey. How have you been?”
“I’m good, how are you? What’s new?”
“I’m great! You’re coming to the wedding right?”
“Yeah, of course!”
“Great, I can’t wait to see you again Kell, it’s been too long.” She felt herself get goose bumps when he called her Kell.
“I know, I’m so excited to see you guys again.”
“We’re excited to see you and Becca again!” Kellie laughed quietly.
“Aw, see I miss that laugh.” Kellie could feel herself blush even though they were talking over the phone.
“I miss you Kell, it’s been way too long.”
“I miss you too Joe! Well, Becca and I are coming out a few days before the wedding so we can catch up with you guys.”
“Awesome! Oh, I have to go. Sorry, I’ll talk to you soon! Bye Kellie.”
“Bye Joe!” She hung up her phone with a smile on her face.
I am so excited to see him again.
