Love Affair
Prologue
“Joe I can’t believe we’re really doing this.” She said excitedly as she tugged on his arm.
He looked over to her. She was stunning even in her jeans and baseball tee.
No this wasn’t the way he had pictured his wedding to be but under the circumstances it no longer mattered. Joe had let to many people dictate his life, telling him what to wear, where to go, what he could and couldn’t do. He had to draw the line somewhere and it was starting with her. He was going to marry her if it was the last thing he ever did.
All the talk of them being to young and that it wasn’t love only made him want to be with her more.
“Are you ready to be a Jonas?” He asked with a smile on his face, when they turned to face each other. She smiled back and squeezed the bouquet in her hands a little bit tighter. Her eyes were glowing, Joe could tell she wanted this just as much as he did.
The couple listened to the reverend recite their wedding vows to them to say to one another. This was just as romantic as any other wedding. The secrecy, the spontaneity, the love.
“I do.” She smiled, the tears had started to form in her eyes and were escaping from the corners onto her cheeks. “And do you Joseph Adam Jonas take Kierah Richelle Gallo to be your lawfully wedded wife?” “Yes. Yes I do.” Joe said not even letting the reverend finish the question. Kierah laughed and squeezed on his hands. She couldn’t stop smiling nor could he.
“Well I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride.” Joe needed no introduction to kiss her. His lips had found hers long before the reverend had begun to speak again.
“So how does it feel wifey?” Joe asked when the two had finally made it back on the road. She smiled and turned to face him, holding his free hand close to chest.
“It feels like the first time you kissed me.” She giggled. Joe glanced over at her and smiled. “Same here… Same here babe.” He said as he let out a sigh. “I love you Kierah. To the furthest star and back.” Her smile couldn’t have gotten any bigger at that point. Whatever was to come next they would have this new found union to hold them together and give them to strength to face the ugliness that they knew lay ahead of them.
