OK, so at the request of a few, I am writing a sequel to "Thicker Than Blood"

Here is Chapter 1, dedicated to all the chicas who wanted me to do this:
My name is Nick. Nick Jay. I am one third of the band The Jonas Brothers. I am my mother’s third child, out of four. I am a type-1 diabetic. And I am NOT happy.
You wanna know why I’m not happy??? It’s all because of my brother Joe’s fiancé, Nisha. Don’t get me wrong, I love her like a sister, and she’s an awesome friend and an even awesomer cook. I just am not happy with the current situation.
See, I know my brother’s a vampire. And I know Nisha’s a vampire too. I know they’re Beloveds and that they’re madly in love with each other. Fine. Good for them. But I want to be a vampire too.
Kevin acts like he doesn’t want to be one, but I know he does. He’s trying to be the mature one for a change. That’s usually my role, but I’m tired of it, and dam.n it, I wanna be a vampire.
So you may ask yourself, why does Nick Jay want to be a vampire? He’s famous, he’s got tons of money…what does he need all the other stuff for? Well, I will tell you what I need it for. I want to live forever so I can be around when they finally have a cure for diabetes. I would love to be able to help fund way more research than I could if I die when I’m 90. I want the speed and the strength and all that so I can go around saving people, rescuing those who need rescuing. Plus, I’d be a frickin vampire. That’s pretty cool. Duh.
“Please, Nisha. I promise I can handle it. Joe, will you please tell her I can handle it?” Joe looked at me, then at Nisha and shrugged.
“Hey, don’t bring me into this. I’m still a newbie and I can’t vote one way or the other.” Way to be decisive Joe.
“Nick, you don’t know what you’re asking. I can’t take away the life you have just because you want to be a vampire right this minute.”
“But…but…” I was grasping at straws. “But think of Joe. How horrible will it be for him to have to bury me? He’s gonna lose his whole family! Won’t you just save him the heartbreak of having to watch me die?” Suddenly, she was in my face, poking me in the chest.
“Don’t you DARE go there, Nicholas. It’s not my fault any of this happened. Don’t put that on my shoulders. You don’t know what it’s like. And…and…” She turned and stalked off.
“Great.” Joe sighed. “Seriously, Nick, you need lessons on how to deal with chicks.”
“I AM NOT A CHICK, JOSEPH!!!” She yelled back at us, never slowing down in her leaving. Joe shook his head and ran after her.
Ok, so maybe I’m jealous. I want to be a vampire; they ARE vampires, and I am not. But I can admit that I’m also kinda jealous of their relationship. Joe totally lucked out with her. I wanna luck out too.
“Nick!” I looked up to see Nisha approaching. “I will-consider-turning you, but you are going to have to prove to me that you’re ready.” At least it wasn’t an automatic ‘no’ anymore.
“Was Joe ready?” We turned to see him walking towards us. At that precise moment, a fly attempted to land on his nose, and he proceeded to dance around, swatting at the fly.
“Joe’s not ready for anything.” She turned back to face me and took my hands in hers. “I need you to do something for me. And no, none of that ‘if you turn me I will’ crap. This is serious. I can’t get Joe to talk to me about that night. I don’t want him to keep all that bottled up. Can you try?”
She didn’t even have to explain. I knew exactly what she was talking about. I hadn’t been there, but I’d seen the hollow look in my brother’s eyes afterwards, while Nisha had been unconscious. Kevin and I had decided that he would talk when he was ready. Six months later, and he still hadn’t spoken to anyone about what happened.
“Yeah.” She smiled. “But that doesn’t mean I am gonna give up on bugging you till you turn me.” She rolled her eyes.
