Hey, Ginny. :)
I thought that since you're such an amazing reader/commenter you'd probably have a similar consistency of amazing in your writing. And yes, yes you do.
While this is a little strange, it's for a good reason, it's not really the "ordinary" fan fiction.
I, of course, youtubed the song to listen to whilst I read this and it definitely added a specific tone to the story that I loved. Kind of coincidentally, the speed with which I read between the lyrics seemed to match up almost perfectly with the length of the song. It was kind of crazy.
So, as weird of a compliment as this may be, I like the fact that you didn't use names. Since the ambiguity of it made it so it truly could have been any of them, it's very versatile for anyone who wants to read it. They can just implement the Jonas of their choice into the story and wahlah it's perfect. In fact, if you hadn't put in the "brothers" it really could have been any band anyone wanted it to be. It was up to the readers interpretation, which was really cool.
The whole thing was really well written. The descriptions you used in certain places really added to the story. Specifically, I like how you describe hands. First, with the ring, and then towards the end, with the little girl. I'd say it's practically symbolism- that is, if I were assigned to write a three page paper on your one-shot for English... which I'm not... but anyway. I liked it.
I also like the passage of time in this oneshot. While that's the only part that confused me, because I can't really tell how old he is at certain points, it didn't affect my experience reading this as a whole.
All in all, this was great, and I've spent too much time commenting you back and not writing my story so I'll end this comment now.

Yeah, I was having a little problem with the time line myself. But I'm glad it didn't deter from the story too badly.
Wow...I totally didn't even see the hands thing.
That's awesome that you found the song. I know its kinda on the slow side, but I totally blast this in my car. (Yes, I am such a JW fan that I went out and bought the CD the day it was released--which is actually the first time I ever bought a CD the day it was released) And this song just does it for me.
And it's not a weird compliment. I love it.
