Chapter 20 B
“What did you do?!?!?!?!” I screamed at Nisha and Joe as I entered the house and saw them sitting on the couch watching TV. Nisha reached over and turned it off.
“Um…” She looked at Joe, puzzled. Joe shrugged. “What?”
“Don’t pull that shi.t! I know one of you said something to Zee to make her break up with me!” I stalked over to Nisha and grabbed her arms. “I know you’ve been trying to separate us!” Suddenly, I felt myself being thrown across the room. I sat up, and immediately felt a stabbing pain shooting through my arm. Joe stood over me.
“Don’t you EVER touch her like that again.” He didn’t raise his voice, but the way Joe spoke to me actually scared me. “I talked to Zee. I told her to stop hiding from you. I told her to tell you the truth.”
“Well, all she did was break up with me.” Nisha came over and helped me to my feet.
“Nick, I wasn’t trying to separate the two of you. I know you guys love each other. I just wanted her to be honest with you.” She explained gently. “And, your arm is broken.”
“Really?” I looked at her in shock. “How do you know that?” She just shrugged.
“Dam.n. I didn’t think I hit you that hard.” Joe said sheepishly.
“Let’s get you to the doctor.”
