Epilogue-
Joe lightly brushed away Kellie’s tears before her make-up was ruined. He himself was biting back tears and had to take a few deep breaths just to last five more minutes.
“I now pronounce you husband and wife,” Mr. Jonas concluded the ceremony. Joe quickly took Kellie’s face gently in his hands and pressed his lips to hers. They both stopped fighting back their tears.
“Mrs. Jonas,” Joe whispered against Kellie’s lips. They smiled and started back down the isle, arm in arm. Joe looked to his family, his mother had tears streaming down her face and his father was holding her in his arms. Kellie’s family was the same way. They walked outside of the church and he helped her into the limousine.
“Come here,” He said pulling Kellie onto his lap. “I love you so much,”
“Hmmm…me too.” Kellie said snuggling into his chest. Joe smirked.
“Oh really, prove it.” Kellie laughed. “I just married you, is that not enough?” Joe leaned his face closer to hers, their lips only a centimeter apart.
“No necessarily,” He whispered kissing her bottom lip. Joe sat back, leaving them both wanting more. Kellie leaned in for another kiss but Joe stopped her.
“Tonight,” He said winking at her. She rolled her eyes.
“Thank you all for joining us tonight, I just wanted to say a few words before the madness starts,” Kevin Sr. said as everyone laughed. There must have been a little over one-hundred people seated at tables in the reception hall. “It’s amazing when I think about how long ago Joe and Kellie met. Joe was 18 and Kellie was what…16?” He asked looking at her. She nodded as Joe kissed the back of her hand.
“They went through so much together, some of which we never want to rethink. But somehow they made it through everything, even after they hadn’t seen each other for ten years or so, yet when they met up again everything seemed to fall right back into place. Now we’re here, celebrating the start of their lives together. Congratulations you two, we all knew that this is where you’d end up one day.” Everyone applauded as Mr. Jonas handed the microphone back to the DJ.
“I feel like I’ve cried too much today,” Kellie said with a small laughed as Joe wiped her tears away. He smiled and kissed her softly on the lips.
“Don’t worry Kells; just try not to cry too much on our honeymoon.” He joked. Kellie laughed and punched him playfully.
They party ended late, probably close to 1:30 in the morning. Kellie’s family and the Jonas’ were the last to leave.
“Good night you two, be good on your honeymoon.” Denise said giving each of them a hug and a kiss. “Welcome to the family Kellie,” She whispered.
“Thank you Denise,” Kellie said kissing her cheek. They all walked out to the parking lot and Joe lifted Kellie into the limo. They sat snuggled together for the short ride back to the hotel.
“I can’t believe were married.” He said in a soft voice. Kellie moaned and nodded. “Tired baby?” Joe chuckled holding her tighter. She nodded again.
“You can sleep, I’m not going anywhere.”
“Promise?” She asked sleepily.
“There’s no where I would rather be.”
