Okay here's the deal:
it sucks.
Plain and simple. I don't really like the way it is. It just sucks. But I'm sick, I don't feel well, and I felt really bad about waiting awhile, so regardless, here it is. I swear it'll be better the next time. It just wasn't working. :(
Chapter 1
She half-listened, half-slept as the teacher droned on. They had already taken their test, however he wouldn’t let anyone leave, it was straight ahead to the book instead. She could only take so much math at once and she was over it. She was mindlessly doodling on her notebook when she heard him say class was over.
She pushed open the heavy door and walked out into the warm sunshine thankful for the warmth instead of a cold classroom. She continued through the campus when her phone began vibrating in her pocket. She quickly pulled it out and glanced at the caller ID before answering. “Hey.”
“Hey how’d it go?”
Courtney groaned as she fished through her bag for her car keys. “Ugh I totally failed that test.”
“You lie, you did not. You always think you do and then you always end up getting a good grade.”
“I swear Mandy, I actually did. I greatly dislike tests. Math doesn’t bother me. It’s the tests that kill me.”
“Well at least you have tests,” Mandy replied as Courtney entered the parking lot at school. “I have nothing but projects on top of projects and them some more hidden in there somewhere.”
The blonde chuckled before making her way out to the car. “Please I’d take those over boring paperwork any day of the week.” She threw her backpack in the backseat before climbing in on the driver’s side. “So what are you up to right now?”
“Ummm nothing, going to the library to get some fashion books then heading home. Why?”
“I’m stopping at Starbucks on the way home. Want some?”
“Have I ever told you how much I love my best friend? You seriously rock.”
“I’ll see you at home in a bit. Bye.” She laughed quietly at her friend before backing out and heading toward their favorite coffeehouse. As she drove through the streets of San Diego she let her mind wander to the next night. The night when she and her best friend would get to see their favorite band and three of the most amazing guys, in their opinion.
She quickly got out of the car and walked in, saying hi to everyone who worked there, who were her friends. She stuck around for a few minutes, chatting and catching up with everyone. She was in the middle of a conversation when her phone buzzed, signaling a new text message.
Where are you? I NEED coffee! –M
Courtney grinned and excused herself, grabbing both of the coffees, before heading out of Starbucks. She quickly got back on the road and turned the volume up when BB Good came on. She was singing loudly and carefully moving to the beat when she felt the car and herself forcibly lurch forward, small amounts of coffee spilling over the side.
She gasped and quickly grabbed the steering wheel before taking a deep breath. She looked in her rearview mirror and sure enough, a black Tahoe was right at the back of her car. “You’ve got to be kidding me,” she groaned and turned her engine off. She was thankful that it was off of a main street so there wouldn’t be any spectators. She jumped out of the car, groaning when she saw half of her trunk caved in, and stalked off in the direction of the idiot that hit her.
A/N: Thoughts? Questions? It sucks/doesn't suck? Can you tell I'm having issues with this story? I swear. It sounded great in my mind.
