In walks Joe and Camilla…Camille Belle. He had the nerve to bring her?! I sat at the table with my mouth hanging open.
“Spencer, hey!” Joe faked a smile. He took Camilla’s hand and walked over to where Kevin and I were sitting. We stood up.
“This is Camilla. Cam, this is Spencer and well… you know Kevin.” Joe introduced us.
“Hi.” Camilla said cheerfully.
“Hey.” I tried to sound happy. I grabbed my stuff and joined Nick in the pool.
An hour or so later Mr. Jonas called us in the house for dinner.
“Spencer, so good to see you again!” He said embracing me in a hug.
“You to Mr. Jonas.” I went to take my usual seat at the Jonas’ dining room table but of course, Camilla was there. So I sat between Kevin and Frankie. The usually noisy Jonas dinner table was uncomfortably quiet tonight.
After dinner I helped Mrs. Jonas clean the table. I brought the dishes to the sink.
“Spencer dear, are you ok?” Mrs. Jonas asked me as I gently placed the dishes in the sink.
“Yeah, I’m fine. Why?”
“I don’t know, you seem…different, more quiet that usual.” She said turning on the water and picking up the first plate off the pile. I picked up the next plate and scrubbed off the remains with a sponge.
“Things are just…awkward.” I admitted. Mrs. Jonas stopped what she was doing and looked at me.
“Oh Spencer, I know it must be hard having to see Joe with Camilla but she really is a sweet girl. You know that you can always come to me if you need to talk.” She said resuming cleaning her plate.
“Thanks Mrs. Jonas. You always were like a second mom to me.” I replied giving her a quick hug.
“You’re welcome honey.” She said wrapping one arm around me as I went to finish cleaning the plates.
When I was done helping Mrs. Jonas I went downstairs to join the boys and Camilla. I felt a little better after talking to Denise for a while so I sat down next to Camilla and started a conversation.
“Oh look at this, the two girls getting along!” Joe said plopping himself down and resting an arm on Camilla’s shoulders.
“Yeah Joe, it’s a miracle!” She joked. I laughed softly.
“So Spence how’s school?” Joe asked breaking the second of silence.
“It’s alright. Senior year, finally.” I said. Joe nodded and looked around the room.
“Awkward!” He finally blurted out. Everyone cracked up.
“Same old Joe.” I mumbled.
“Hey! Is that an insult?” He asked punching my shoulder jokingly. I laughed, showing that I was obviously kidding. Kevin, Nick, and Frankie were too into their game of Rock Band to pay any attention to the conversation going on.
I felt my phone vibrating in my pocket; I took it out and read the screen.
“Oh, who is it?” Joe asked like a curious little kid.
“Just Ashlee,” I said flipping open my phone.

Hey Spence how’s everything?
I quickly texted her back.
Every thing’s fine, a little awkward but fine.
I kept myself occupied by texting Ashlee for another good 10 minutes. But when Kevin interrupted I put my phone away.
“So, the tour is starting soon!” He said with a huge smile.
“That’s so cool! How long will you guys be gone for?” I asked.
“We won’t be gone.” Kevin continued, giggling a little bit. Soon Nick was in on the laughing, the only one silent was Joe who was busy “whisper-talking” with Camilla.
“What do you mean?” I asked sitting up. Finally the two of them burst out laughing. Frankie was sitting on the couch giggling to himself as well.
“What’s so funny?!” I asked anxiously. Joe looked up and saw his brothers laughing like they were on happy gas.
“Spencer, we won’t be gone because you’re coming with us!” Nick said after he caught his breath.
“Wha…what?!” I asked shocked. My whole body felt tense.
“Yep, you are joining us on tour this year!” Kevin concluded. I could tell Camilla was glaring at me.
“But, I mean, I have school! And…and…” I could only think of one other reason why I wouldn’t want to go but of course, I couldn’t say that reason out loud.
“We have our tutor; you and Joe are learning the same stuff so it won’t be too much work.” Nick explained. I looked over at Joe who was helplessly looking down at his knees. I could tell he wasn’t completely comfortable with this decision.
“Guys, I don’t…I can’t!” I said getting up.
“Spencer, please! We’ve missed you so much and Frankie really enjoys spending time with Sammy, Nick and I thought it would be so much fun.” Kevin pleaded. Yeah, Nick and I,obviously Joe wasn’t in on the decision.
“I have to think about it. But I should be getting home, it’s late.” I grabbed my things as Kevin and Nick stood to say bye.
“Please come! It will be a lot of fun, I promise.” Nick said giving me a quick hug good-bye.
“See ya Spence! Hope you change your mind.” Kevin said hugging me as well.
“Bye Frank, see you later Joe, nice meeting you Camilla.” I called walking up the stairs to the main floor of the Jonas’ house.
“Bye Mr. and Mrs. Jonas. Thanks for dinner!” I said closing the front door behind me.
Join them on tour?! I don’t think so.
