So I started writing this back in October..I think..it may have been the end of september. Anyways, I've been posting it on the Archive and I've been blown away at how well it's doing over there. So I finally decided I wanted to share it here.
Now there are a select few of you that have read a lot of this fic already....you know who you are...all I ask is that you please don't spoil anything for the new readers. I know it might be hard, but I know you girles I am talking about can do it. Feel free to comment though, cuz comments are what motivate me to post..
Oh yes, speaking of posting...I have 26 chapters already written so...how I feel will determine how often i post new chapters...eehh probably every couple of days, but that is up for discussion so. Anyways onward to the summary...yes summary..thank you JBFFA for that requirement!!

Listen To Your Heart
A Nick/Joe Love Triangle FF
Summary: Alyssa Davison, or Lissa as everyone calls her, has been harboring feelings for her best friend Joe Jonas for years. Deciding that it was time to let go of her fantasies she finally makes a decision to move on, but not without the help of another best friend, Joe's younger brother Nick. A new romance slowly blossoms, causing Joe to realize what has been in front of him for so long. Could this new romance be the answer to Lissa's prayers? Or will Joe always be the only one in her heart? Lissa is faced with making one of the most difficult decisions in her life, a decision that will leave at least one, maybe even more, heartbroken. Will she hear what her heart is telling her, and more importantly, will she listen to it?
Chapter 1
I stood near the doorway, remaining unnoticed as I peered in. I watched as he ran his hand through his dark brown hair. The sound of his laugh rang through my ears. He was talking…no flirting….he was flirting with a brunette. Though it appeared harmless, it didn’t stop that ugly green monster called jealously from settling into the pit of my stomach. It never changed. I’ve watched him flirt since he discovered what “flirting” was, and every time I got that same feeling in the pit of my stomach. I knew I was torturing myself by watching the two of them, but I couldn’t seem to pull my gaze away from what I was witnessing. I was watching so intently that I didn’t even notice that someone had walked up behind me.
“Whatcha doin Lissa?” a soft, husky voice whispered in my ear, causing me to jump sky high.
“Gaaahhh, Nicolas Jerry Jonas why do you always have to sneak up on me like that?” I turned away from the doorway towards him, and slapped his shoulder playfully.
“Because, Alyssa Nicole Davison, you jump every time, and it never ceases to amuse me” Nick laughed, putting emphasis on saying my full name just like I said his. “What was so interesting that you didn’t even here me coming?” He looked over my shoulder into the room and saw his older brother Joe and the brunette laughing. He turned back to me with a small sigh.
“Lissa, why do you do this to yourself?” he said, putting his hands on my shoulders. I hung my head down in shame.
“I know, I KNOW!” I sighed. We walked a few feet away from the doorway.
“I can’t help it that I’m in love with him,” I looked up at Nick. “I’m pathetic I know.”
“Well, maybe just a…a smidge” he said, cracking a small smile. “But you know you can change that.”
“Okay mister smarty pants, how do I change being so pathetic?” I asked raising my eyebrows.
“Well, you have three options. Option number one: You tell Joe how you really feel, and whatever happens, well happens. Option number two: You move on, let him and your feelings for him go. And Option number three: you do absolutely nothing and continue to torture yourself.” Nick finished.
“Okay let’s see there’s no way I’m going to tell him how I feel, so option number one is out. And I’m tired of torturing myself, so there goes option three. That leaves option two. But I don’t know how I’m supposed to just…move on. It’s not like I can stop being in love with him.” I let out a frustrated sigh.
“Hey, come here” Nick said softly, motioning me to come towards him. I obliged and he wrapped his arms around my small frame in a warm hug. I wrapped my arms around his neck and rested my head on his shoulder. “I know you can’t. The heart wants what it wants. You just have to help it move on. Just take it slow, a day at a time. Let yourself be open to other possibilities. Plus you have Kevin and me if you need any sort of distractions.” I let out a small laugh.
“You know, you say things like that and I forget that you’re only 15.” I lifted my head off his shoulder so I was looking at him.
“You and everyone else we know” he laughed. ‘So what are you going to do?”
“I guess I’m gonna try and move on. I know it’s not going to be easy, but I have to try.” I said softly. Nick was about to say something when a voice interrupted us.
“Hey guys what’s up? Where’s Joe? Miley’s ready for us to practice ‘We Got The Party’” Nicks older brother Kevin said, approaching us.
“Oh hey Kev. Joe’s in the dressing room” Nick said motioning towards the open door. Not even a second later Joe appeared in the doorway.
“Someone call me?” he asked casually.
“No, but I was on my way to get you. Miley wants to work on ‘We Got The Party’ and then the three of us plus the band will run through the rest of our songs. You comin’?” Kevin remarked.
“Yeah, just a sec” Joe answered disappearing back into the dressing room. He came back a moment later with the brunette trailing behind him. Nick and I exchanged glances. I took in a slow deep breath and let it out. Nick reached for my hand and gave it a small squeeze. I smiled weakly at him.
“Guys, this is Amanda. Her uncle works here and surprised her with being able to come here today” Joe said. Nick and Kevin exchanged warm hello’s and both gave her a hug. You could tell how excited she was to meet them. We all turned and headed to the stage.

Chapter 2
“Hey Amanda, have you met Lissa over here?” he asked, grabbing me by the hand and pulling me beside him from the spot I had been in behind them. “She’s our best friend. We’ve all known each other since we were kids.” I gave Nick a look that said ‘now why’d you have to go and do that, I was just fine hanging in the back of the pack’ but then spoke up.
“Remind me again why I’ve put up with you three after all these years?” I said laughing.
“Hey!” Kevin kidded.
“Oh you know you love us,” Joe said, flashing me one of his goofy grins that always made me weak in the knees.
“Well, Nick and Kevin definitely,” I said and then turned to Joe with a smirk “but you….you I’m not so sure about”
“Ooooh, poned. Nice one Lissa!” Both Kevin and Nicked cheered giving me high fives. I looked back over at Joe, and suddenly wished I hadn’t. He had the most mischievous look in his eyes. While we both knew I was only kidding around, no one, and I mean no one can prank Joe and get away with it. Nick and Kevin knew this, and when they both saw his face, they too, knew I was in for it. Joe started to walk towards me.
“Is that so?” he said slowly, his eyebrows raised.
“Uh…..I mean uh……..” I stuttered. Joe was slowly getting closer. I looked over at Kevin and Nick for help.
“I’d just start running if I were you” Kevin said. It was enough for me. I looked back at Joe one last time.
“I’ll just…um…..yeah bye!” and with I took off at a sprint, though to where I wasn’t sure. Joe was after me in an instant. Now Joe and I both knew in a running match he could catch me no problem, so I looked for the nearest thing I could find to defend myself from crazy “Danger”. I saw a water bottle lying on the side of the stage. I grabbed it with one had as I ran past, looking over my shoulder. He was right behind me. He reached out to grab my by the waist. I dodged him and unscrewed the cap on the bottle as I turned around to face him.
“Come on JoJo you know I didn’t mean it” I said sweetly. I kept the water bottle hidden behind my back.
“Doesn’t matter. You know my rule. No one pulls a fast one on Joe and gets away with it. That includes you AllyCat” using his personal nickname for me like I had for him. “Now, we can do this the easy way or the hard way, what’s it gonna be?”
I pretended to think long and hard about it. “Hmmmm, I choose my way.” I finally said. ‘I am so gonna pay for what I’m about to do, but it’ll be so worth it, cause’ he doesn’t even see it coming’ I thought to myself.
“Oh?” he raised his eyebrows again, “and what is your way?”
“Just…..this”, and before he could say ‘miscommunication’ I took the water bottle I had been hiding and held it upside down over his head, completely catching him off guard and drenching him in the process. The look on his face was priceless. Kevin and Nick were doubled over, laughing. Joe stood there looking completely shocked.
“I…can’t…believe…you…just…did…that” Joe said wide eyed. I tried to stifle my giggles, but it seemed like the harder I tried not to laugh, the more I would actually laugh.
“Oh, you think this is funny do you?” he asked me. All I could do was nod.
“You………you should have seen your face….it was priceless!” I said between giggles.
“Well you know what I think is funny?” he asked? I shook my head.
“Just….this” he imitated me, and then in one swoop grabbed me by the legs and held me over his shoulder. I let out a small shriek. While he was carrying me he shook out his hair a few times, showering me with water droplets.
“Eck, thanks for the free shower Joe. I guess I deserved THAT. Now, put me down!” I squealed. Until today, I actually wouldn’t have minded being carried over his shoulder, but it wasn’t helping the fact that I wanted to get over him. He walked a little farther and then stopped suddenly,
“Are you sure you want me to put you down?” he asked.
“Yes, I’m sure!” I exclaimed.
“Well, okay, if you’re sure” he said. As he went to put me back down, I looked to the side and saw where we had stopped. I was suddenly wishing I hadn’t asked….no demanded he put me back down.

Hey, i read this yesterday, and those chapters weren't enough for me so i immediately went over to JBFFA and oh my goodness can i just say i absolutely love this fic!
You are extremely talented, and i can't wait for more xD

Well, just for that, I'm gonna post another chapter. Hmmm i'm thinking maybe i shouldn't have mentioned this story was on JBFFA now haha....oh well damage has been done!!
Chapter 3
“Wait, wait!” I squeaked. “I…I changed my mind.” You see, the stage had a ton of hidden trap doors, and one of them was open. Joe had decided that was where he was going to drop me.
“Ooooh” he said with a laugh, “Having second thoughts now are we? Or is it you just can’t get enough of starring at my sexy boo-tay?” My eyes got really big. I was glad he couldn’t see my face, because if he had, he would have noticed a nice little shade of pink forming on my cheeks.
“Ugh, just put me down Joe, or your “sexy booty”, as you call it, is going to have a nice little bruise.” I groaned.
“Touché. Well, if you want me to put you down on the stage and not this dark little space here you’re gonna have to do something for me” he replied mischievously. I closed my eyes. Ugh, he is enjoying this WAY too much, I thought.
“Alright Joe, lets here it. What do I have to do?” I said, wanting to know whatever “it” was so I could get it over with as soon as possible and get my feet firmly on solid ground again. Not to mention I really wanted to get away from the view of his….uh…. “sexy booty”.
“Just say “I love Joe just as much as his brothers, if not more, he has the world’s sexiest boo-tay, AND he is the pone king!” he replied. I didn’t have to be able to see his face to know he had the hugest grin on it. ‘Great, just great.’ I thought to myself. I took a small breath.
“Ilovejoejustasmuchashisbrothersifnotmorehehastheworldssexiestbootyandheistheponeking” I mumbled in one breath.
“Wait, what was that Lissa? I couldn’t quite understand it. Say it slower…and louder so that everyone can hear” Joe said. I let out a sigh.
“Alright…alright. I love joe just as much as his brothers, if not more, he has the world’s sexiest…booty, and he is the pone king,” I said through gritted teeth, a lot slower, and louder. I knew after that I wasn’t going to be able to, excuse the pun, look him in the eyes for a while.
Joe took a few steps backward and slowly lowered me down until my feet touched the stage floor. He let go of me and stood there, a smug smile spread across his face.
“Maybe next time you’ll think twice before trying to pone the King,” he said, grinning. I rolled my eyes.
“Maybe…..but don’t count on it!” I said and then left him standing there as I walked back over to Nick, Kevin, and Amanda who were still watching, trying to control their laughs.
“You do know he’s going to hold this over your head, pretty much forever, right?” Nick smirked.
“Hey!” I poked him in the side, “He might..if you keep bringing it up, so shush already!”
“Fine, fine, I won’t bring it up anymore.” He replied putting his hands up in defense.
“Today,” he mumbled as he and Kevin made their way over to where their guitars where.
“What was that Nicolas?” I said raising my eyebrows. He whipped his head around towards me.
“Nothing, nothing.” He replied innocently.
“Uh huh. Sure” was my reply.
As the guys got ready to rehearse I began chatting with Amanda.
“So, are you going to their opening night concert?” I asked.
“Oh man I wish, that would be so awesome…but no. I’m actually flying home to Texas tomorrow,” she replied. I felt myself completely relax when I found out she wasn’t staying.
“Oh I thought……so you’re from Texas. What brings you here to St, Louis?”
“Yep. One of my cousins got married yesterday. My uncle, remembering how much I love the Jonas Brothers, was nice enough to surprise me with getting to meet them.” I cracked a smile.
“You have a pretty cool uncle.” Our conversation went on like that for a little while longer until the Miley and the boys started playing through “We Got the Party”. I let my mind drift to what had just happened with Joe. Getting over him is going to be a lot tougher than I thought. Ugh, if he only knew how much I meant it when I said I loved him……no, you can’t go there Lis, so stop it! You have to let those fantasies go. It’s not meant to be. I just have to keep reminding myself of that. It’s not meant to be…It’s not meant to be. Yeah like that’s actually going to help. Wait, remember what Nick said. Take it one day at a time. Okay, I think…maybe…. I was shaken out of my thoughts when I heard Amanda laugh. Joe had just done one of his silly “Joe antics”. He looked over our way when he heard Amanda laugh. I felt my breath get caught in my throat. He had run his fingers through his damp hair so it wouldn’t stick to his head. He gave us both a big cheesy smile and then turned back to continue rehearsing. Oh Lord help me! This was going to be one very long tour, and it hadn’t even officially started yet!
