Wow...only two more comments? Oh well, welcome Ana! Here's chapter 2!! Enjoy!!!
"So...Joe....you up for....some football?" Daniel asked during mouthfuls
"Are you sure you want to do that? Remember what happened the last time?" Joe replied, taking a swig of his orange juice.
"Hey, you cheated, man. And besides, I'll have my lucky charm with me," Daniel looked over at me and winked. "Right, baby?"
I smiled. "What ever you say, Danny-boo."
Joe made a gagging noise, and I shoot him a glare. Kevin and Nick were stifling laughter, but that didn't last very long. Soon, Daniel and I were the only ones not laughing. Joe had fallen out of his chair and Kevin was doubled over. Nick had turned away, like that helped. His entire body was shaking with laughter.
"Danny-boo?" Joe laughed. "Dude, wait until the guys hear that one!"
Daniel gave me a look, and in return, I gave his an apologetic one. "Sorry," I mouthed.
He just shrugged it off. He usually didn't mind his buddies knowing my nicknames for him. Since he was one of the strongest guys in the group, no one usually messed with him for too long.
"Guys, knock it off. You got your picture. Don't you think that that's enough humilitation for one day?" I said, gaining a raised eyebrow from Daniel.
"What picture, Lissie?" Kevin asked dramatically
"Seriously. What are you talking about?" Joe asked just as sarcastically
"Oh please. I may have been half out of it, but I know for a fact that you two took a picture of me this morning."
"A morning picture of you? Something I haven't seen in the 9 months we've been together," Daniel chimed in
"And something you'll never see," I retailated, eyeing Joe and Kevin
"Whatever. Joe, you in or out?" Daniel asked, changing the subject. Something I will always love about him.
"I'm in," he replied, standing up. "And I'll beat you even with your little lucky charm."
Joe stuck his tongue out at me.
"Save that for Jessica, Joe. I don't need to see that," I replied, walking over to Daniel
Daniel stood up and wrapped his arms around my waist. He leaned in a kissed my lips passionately, I felt like I was floating. He rubbed his hand up my back to the nap of my neck and pulled me closer with his other hand at my waist. I wrapped my arms around his neck and one of my hands up into his spiked black hair.
I heard someone clear their throat. "I would like to keep my lunch down, if you don't mind," Joe requested.
We both sighed and pulled apart. He leaned his forehead against mine.
"He ruins every moment," I whispered
"Not tonight. Our anniversary, right?" Daniel replied, whispering
I smiled. Only a week's reminder, nice. "Yep, where are we going?"
"Now that," he said, not whispering anymore. "You will have to wait to find that out."
I whined, and then pulled his lips back to mine, slipping my tongue between them and danced with his tongue. After a moment, I pulled away, keeping my forehead against his.
He sighed deeply. "Just....wear something dressy."
"That's all I get?" I cooed, tracing my finger along his lips.
He let out a small chuckle. "Don't do this to me, Liss."
"Do what?" I asked innocently
"Oh come on!!!" Joe exclaimed impatiently.
I sighed and rolled my eyes. Every freakin' moment he ruins.
"Are you gonna play some football or what?" Kevin asked, joining in on the impatience
"Fine, let's go," Daniel said, pulling me along by our interlaced fingers to the car.
I climbed in the backseat of Kevin's SUV. Joe and Kevin were in the front, Daniel was next to me, and Nick climbed in the back backseat. During the drive to the field, Joe put on his mix CD, which was a scary thought to begin with. The first song on the CD was "Disturbia" by Rihanna. At least, it would be if Joe wasn't singing so loud. I could barely hear Rihanna.
Daniel kept his fingers interlocked with mine, something he usually didn't do, and it felt nice. Different. I liked it. The next song was "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey. Everyone, including me, sang along.
"Just a small town girl! Livin' in a lonely world!! She took the midnight train goin' anywhere!!!"
I could hear Daniel the best. Mostly because of his closeness to me, but also for the fact that he couldn't sing a note in the right key to save his life. Joe and Nick were in the top choir at our school, so they were really good. Kevin was good too, but didn't join a choir in college.
I smiled at Daniel and his off-key singing. As much as it pained my ears, it made my heart flutter. He even took out his cell and used it as a mic, singing into it. During the next song, "I Will Always Love You" by Whitney Houston (yeah...Joe has that on his mix), he sang it to me. Joe was making faces during it, but I didn't care. I was mesmerized by my Daniel, my Danny-boo.
We pulled into the parking lot, and that's when Daniel turned back to his game-time self. He pulled his hand out of mine and ran down to the field. I sighed, and climbed out of the car. I made my way down to the field with Nick by my side. Joe and Kevin had run off too.
"Not playing today, Nick?" I asked, sitting down on the bleachers
He shook his head, making his massive amounts of curls bounce. "Nah, not in the football mood today."
I nodded and turned my attention to Daniel, who was jogging in place and stretching while the captains picked their teams. Joe and Daniel ended up on opposite teams, of course. I will never hear the end of this game. Soon, the guys were playing and Nick and I were joined by the girlfriends of the other boys.
"Hey Nick, how are you?" asked Tiffany, twirling her finger in her hair.
"I'm good, Tiff. How are you?" Nick replied politely
The girls always flirted with Nick when he sat down on the bleachers with us. I don't know if it was because there was testosterone within a 3-foot radius of them, or because they thought he was cute, but it kind of bugged me. I mean, their boyfriends were right there.
Daniel looked up at me before a play and I blew him a kiss. He "caught" it on his cheek, and went on to score a touchdown. I cheered and he gave me one of his amazing smiles. Gah, I loved him.
