Ch2.
Around two I fell asleep on the couch. When I woke up three hours later to the sound of the T.V. all I could remember was that I had a dream, and the JonasBrothers were in it. Of course, I didn’t think twice about this, being that I had been bombarded by stories about them the night before. Of course, had I thought harder I may have realized something.
I threw my pillow at Sadie who was sitting up against the coffee table with the remote in her hand. Unsuprisingly she was watching the HannahMontana episode with the JonasBrothers on it. When was enough enough?
Sadie looked over her shoulder at me and her eyes widened. “Sorry Charlie. I didn’t think it was that loud.” She said. She really was sorry too. Sadie wasn’t a very good liar. “I’ll lower it. Go back to sleep.”
“It’s too late.” I said, throwing my blanket onto the floor and crawling over to sit next to her. “I’m already up. Can we watch something else though?” I rubbed my eyes as she flipped channels. Of course, there was nothing else decent on other than the Food Network, which would only make me hungry. I closed my eyes and laid my head back, letting her keep on the Disney Channel.
I fell asleep like that, listening to the show. It was funny how I could be so unconsious, yet still absorb so much. When I woke up again at nine I could have recited that episode over seven times.
Once everyone was awake we went upstairs and I made pancakes for breakfast. Sadie’s parents had left earlier in the day and her and her older sister were completely useless in the kitchen. As we ate everyone got back to talking about the concert.
“The lazers were amazing!”
“I loved the smoke!”
“The fire was very very nice.” Verena said enthusiastically. I nodded, smiling the whole time. In reality though, I was regretting not going just for the fact that I wouldn’t have to be on the receiving end of all this commotion. Of course, at $100 a ticket, I would sit here and take it like a grown up.
“I’m so sorry I won’t be able to see you off Verena,” I said, changing the subject. “I wish that I’d have planned this better.” I was to be leaving for the Bahamas the day before Verena would be leaving for Germany. Everyone else was going to drive down to the airport to say goodbye.
“It’s okay. That’s what Twitter is for.” She said, laughing. She was right though. The world wide web really was world wide. That’s how Sadie had met her in the first place.
“That’s right,” Sadie said. “You both promised you’d keep us updated!”
“I know, I know” I said, grabbing another pancake. “I promise.” Verena nodded in agreement. We finished breakfast, packed up our stuff and I said goodbye to everyone- and to Verena one last time.
(glad you like it! again, please comment!)
