Chapter 5

Natalie POV

 “Girls, you have been picked to meet with the boys backstage” Big Rob said told us. Kati was trying to keep it cool but I knew she wanted to explode with excitement. I dragged myself to follow Big Rob and Kati. I honestly didn’t want to meet them, it was enough seeing them at the meet and greet. When we got into a private room backstage with four other girls, the boys walked in, and Joe seemed really weird. He was almost avoiding me. I was sitting on the couch watching the other girls flirt with the guys as they were talking to them. We all took some more pictures with them and when everyone started to leave I grabbed Kati, who was talking to Nick, and told her it was time to go. 

“ um.. ok… It was nice talking to you Nick.” Kati said as she hugged him and waved to Kevin and Joe. Joe walked towards us and I thought that he would hug Kati but instead he brushed past me. I noticed his usual happy brown eyes, watery. Like he wanted to cry. He choked out a bye before leaving the room. I looked at Kevin, Nick and Kati before going after him.  I saw him slip out of the one of the exits so I ran towards it. I saw Joe staring at the sky up against the wall.
“Hey” I whispered. He looked at me and then shuffled his feet.
“Hi”
“Are you ok?” I said as I got nearer. I was standing by him when he finally nodded.
“You don’t seem ok”
“I feel so comfortable with you but I don’t know you” He told me. I nodded in agreement.
“Honestly me too” I confessed. We stood there in silence and stared at the stars for a good ten minutes.
“Joe!” We heard. We saw his parents walking towards us. We both lifted our bodies off the wall at the same time which caused both his parents to stop, in shocked faces, in front of us.
“I don’t believe it” His mom whispered as she grabbed his dads hand.
“…its her” he said under his breath. I looked at them so confused, and then looked at Joe who was looking at me strangely.
“Im… going .. to go” I said as I stepped away from joe and his family. I turned away and quickly walked to the door.
“Natalie wait!”
“whats your number? I would like to talk to you again” He said as he handed me his iphone. I hesitantly took it and programmed my number in it. He smiled weakly before I walked inside and found Kati. I smiled at the other boys and I rushed Kati out. The entire ride to my house she was questioning me. I wasn’t ready to try to explain something that I was confused about. When we pulled up at my house I got out.
“Thanks for coming” I smiled and wave and turned to go into my house. It was a beautiful brick two story, three bedroom house. I didn’t see any lights on and my brothers car was gone. I walked into the house and quietly closed the door. I jumped as the living room came on and my dad stood there was an almost empty bottle of vodka.
“Your late” He said before he came towards me.
