Everyone knows it's meant to be, falling in love just you and me..
I was in the lake with my group. I saw Nick and Chelly a few feet away with the other half of our group when a loud wailing broke my thoughts. Our heads whipped around and we stared at Natalie crying, her ankle red and her right arm limp. "Nat" I breathed as I ran over to her. I bent down hovering over her and touched her arm. As soon as I did, she yanked it away and started bawling her eyes out harder. "Natalie.. what happened?" I asked. She sniffed a bit as Nick and Chelly were holding the other campers away. "I..I..I..I..I fell.. and hit my arm on that rock" she explained pointing to a large rock in the water. I winced. Ouch. "Can you walk baby?" I asked. She struggled to stand up, but couldn't. "Should I carry her?" Nick asked suddenly hovering over me. I hesitated before someone answered. "I'll do it". We all turned to see Josh hovering over us.
"I'll bring her to the first aid cabin if you want" he said looking at me. I turned away feeling Nick's questioning gaze burning into my back. "A-A-Alright.." I stammered as he carefully slid his arms under her legs. He carefully picked her up. "Now you tell me if anything hurts when we move okay?" he asked. She nodded as Josh began to walk back to the cabin with her. I quickly followed, feeling Nick's stare burning into me. I closed my eyes and quickly opened them focusing on my little sister. "Will she be okay?" I asked Josh. He didn't answer as I opened the door. He slowly placed Natalie on the bed and stepped back as the nurse began to examine her. "Can we talk?" he asked suddenly. I looked at him startled and nodded slowly as he took my hand and lead me to the back of the cabin. "Steen, I want you" he began. "No, I need you..". I was quiet.
"I.. Nick.." I said looking at him. He sighed. "Forget about him.." he said. "We can run away together. Just you and me and start a family together" he explained. "Everything will be okay, I promise". I thought about his offer, while at the same time, I thought of Nick. I thought of last night. The song Nick sang to me..

"Nick, you okay?" Chelly asked. I didn't answer as I was scrubbing the dishes. It was our shift, and Chelly and I were doing it for Steenie. "Sure, sure.." I replied. She sighed. "Nick, you're my best friend" she said. "I should know you by now". I stopped scrubbing and looked at her. "Josh was Steenie's first boyfriend, wasn't he?" I asked. She turned away and nodded slowly. "I'm really sorry Nick..". I sighed. "It's no big." I replied. "I need to trust her choices.." I said. She sighed. "You're a good boyfriend Nick" Chelly replied. I nodded. Suddenly the doors flew open and in came Lily.
"Josh and Steenie are running away together"
